Monday 2-1 +1.7

The weekend knocked me back down but I will see if I can get back up this week. I like a few games tonight.

Toledo @ Kent St.

Toledo may be the worst road team in the MAC. In conference they have not kept a game closer than 13 points on the road, while this Kent St team is getting back to the old Kent St team we used to know. They play sufficating defence and play under-sized. With beatdown against East Mich and BG at home, while losing to MOH.

Toledo recently suspended their second leading scorer Jonathon Amos (13PPG). Hurting an already bad scoring team.

Kent St and Toledo rank 2nd and 4th in the MAC in OPP Fg%. They are bad FT% shooting teams and both shoot below 31% from behind the arc. While Kent St in conference has only allowed opponents to shoot 21% from 3. They average 61 and 57 PPG.

The only way this game goes over is if Toledo doesnt decide to play any defence what so ever.

I think this game will be a blowout in kent St's favor but I dont want to lay 15 in what I think will be a low scoring game.

Iowa St @ Kansas St

The problem with ISU this year is not help around sophomore Craig Brackens. the 6'10" 230 Lbs sophomore is averaging 19 and 9 this year, and 19.5 in conference. He just gets no help, ISu has one other player in double figures and its at exactly 10.0 PPG.Brackins was coming off a 42-point performance against Kansas when he netted 24 at Colorado, but no other Cyclone managed more than six points.

Kansas St is coming off two big wins against Mizzou and Texas. they shot over 50% from 3 on both games. Earlier in the year Blake Griffin was able to score 29 in Kansas St to lead Ok to a win.

These teams are the two worst Fg% teams in the BIG12. Iowa St is a good passing team and takes care of the ball.

The factor in this game will be the outside shooting. Kansas St's 3 top scorers are shooters. They put up a combined 15 3 pointers per game. They have been great lately and Iowa St struggles to defend the 3, allowing 39%, 4th worst in the Big12. The subfactor that comes along with a lot of emphasis on 3 point shooting is defensive rebounding. However I think this is the game someone else steps up for ISU. Kansas St is the worst 3 point defence, they allow opponents to shoot 47% from 3.

Iowa St is the best defensive rebounding team in the Big12 with 27 DRPG and only allowing a league best again 8.8 offensive boards per game. however this is one of KSU's strength's. They lead the conference in offensive boards.

I think this is the game ISU finds another scorer to go with Brackens down low. They can control KSU's shooters and rebound the ball, with Brackens and two 6'11" guys down low.

ISU +12.5

Decent amount of love for ISU here on the boards today, and I kind of like it myself. Kansas State has been on a nice run lately, with 3 straight impressive wins. However before that lets not forget they lost 4 straight. Not sure which of those is the real KSU. That said 12.5 seems like an inflated line due to the upset win over Texas on Saturday.

yah i was shocked when i saw others backing ISU. This could be a letdown game after the big win over Texas. these guards on ISu are not awful, they need to have a breakout game sometime. im just hoping this is it. Gotta love ISU's inside presence on the road tho.

Pound it inside and maybe free up some shooters:103631605

Purdue @ Ohio St

Purdue has not won in Columbus since a 107-75 rout of the Buckeyes on Feb. 7, 1998, and has dropped 14 of the last 16 meetings overall between the schools.

Guard Chris Kramer has a broken nose. Point guard Lewis Jackson has a concussion. Forward Robbie Hummel continues to struggle with back spasms. And center JaJuan Johnson and guard Keaton Grant have the flu.

So many uncertainties with Purdue's best players to take them on the road. Turner will play well down low. Mullens will be in double figures and Diebler shoots well on the outside.

Marquette @ DePaul

There is a lot going on in Chicago right now with this DePaul team. Coach Wainwright has had his time to build this team. Being in his 3rd year the team has shown no signs of improvement. Have not won a game in conference and got spanked by Rutgers, which was obviously one of their better chances at a win. DePaul needs a young and exciting coach that can recruit all the talent in the Chicagoland area.

It really isn’t very difficult to figure out where DePaul is falling short. The Blue Demons are next to last in the conference in field goal percentage, hitting only 41.5 percent of their shots, and next to last in free-throw shooting at 62.4 percent. Only South Florida trails DePaul in both categories and the Bulls beat DePaul twice.

Depaul relies on the scoring of Tucket and Walker and Koshwal on the inside. After these 3 the enxt leading scorer is at 5 PPG.

In their first meeting Marquette ran all over DePaul and outrebounded them. Marquette notched 18 offensive rebounds . Haywood finished with 17 rebounds on the game.

I am just saying dont let the 9 point margin fool you in the first game. The game was never in doubt and was 14 points at half until Marquette didnt decide to play in the second half.

DePaul shot lights out in the second half to keep it from being a blowout. I think Marquette takes advantage of DePaul starting a 5'10" freshman point guard and out rebounds DePaul. Marquette also missed 15 FT in the first meeting.

Marquette will have the best player at at least 4 of the 5 positions tonight and starts 4 seniors that know how to play on the road.

I just hope they are willing to dominate DePaul tonight because if they want to, like UCONN wanted to last week, they will.

Marquette is 7-2 in their last 9 ATS
