This totally puts the Clippers at a disadvantage. Hope the nba changes this rule in the off season. Really takes away from the game. But as long as it's legal then it's good coaching.

There's no reason to change the rule, by changing the rule you're protecting guys like Jordan. The guys that stink at FT's should practice all offseason FTs.

in the divisional round, tom brady threw against this sorry mf cb on baltimore play after play, down the field, same weak ass corner ..i forget his name, but im sure brady remembers....

u telling me, that brady should not be allowed to exploit the other teams weakness because the fans don t like watching it?

Jordan knows his FT shooting is hurting his team and contributing to the clippers losing. If he can't make them, the clips don't deserve to win.

No offense, but just read what you wrote and tell me how much sense it makes.

+1. Why change rules of the game? This should NEVER be a RULE. You practice your damn FTs. All you have to do in life is play basketball, practice your damn FT's so your team doesn't suffer from it. Flat out simple.

It's no different that an intentional foul. Fts and the ball if the player doesn't have the ball.

rule would never go into effect because then the ref has the make the determination whether it was intentional, which is subjective. Adding subjective rules like this would not go well.

100% chance the rule will be in effect next year. this is the last year we'll see hack a shaq. It will be one of the easier rules to put in place.

I agree. I definitely think it will be addressed.

I don't disagree with the fact that it's def gonna get addressed.
But why change a rule?
They did it to Shaq.....YEARS AGO! It's part of the game....and strategy. You must do what it takes for your team to win!

I'm not saying teams shouldn't use it to their advantage I'm just saying I think it takes away from the game. Therefore I think the nba competition and rules committee will take a look at it. Just my opinion.

I understand why they do it. But intentionally fouling someone completely away from the play is just bad basketball regardless. Make them play the game rather than take advantage of free throw shooters. They have a 24 second clock so the little dudes don't just run around in circles wasting time. Lot of rules are in place to prevent people from taking advantage of them and making the game horrible.

It's a great strategy but one that should be banned. And the fact that Silver has stated himself it's bad entertainment, makes me believe it's done after this year. Because it truly is horrible basketball.

There is no way a ref could dissiminate if a foul is intended or not. It becomes a subjective call. Not going to happen.

Every call has some subjectivity and it would be very easy for them to disseminate between an intentional foul and a foul occurred during normal play. If it is questionable, it wouldn't be a foul. Not some dude just running up to someone and bear hugging them on purpose. It would be a very easy rule to implement.

When they just run up to him and wrap their arms around him when the ball is nowhere near him then yeah I think they can differentiate between intentional or not. And if I'm not mistaken I think when they did it to Shaq he always had the ball.
