Why these numbers you ask?
1 = 6720 because it is slightly more than 50% of total prize pot.
2 = 3350 because it is just about 1/2 of 1st.
3 = 2200 because it deserves more than twice that of 4th.
4 = 1050 because it deserves about 1/2 that of 3rd.
5 = 0 because in a field of only 37 entrants you're not worthy of anything more than a slap on the back, and a kick in the ass for a job well done.

I know that some already liked try³ (numbers by J-man)'s suggestion, but I really strongly prefer gskiman's numbers. By the way, yep, top 4 is fine with me as well.
About the numbers/percentages, look carefully below in try³/J-Man suggestion:
6,500
3,320
2,000
1,500
Notice how 3rd place and 4th place are only $500 difference in a contest where 3rd of 37 versus 4th of 37 are close in prize amounts.
If there is a clear-cut winner, with 2nd through 4th places hotly contested-- those who fail to get 2nd place would not care whether they make 3rd or 4th place (of course everyone wants the extra $500).
That's why I prefer gskiman's line of reasoning in having the
top 4 prizes essentially halved as each place is paid out.
I recommend we make a new poll with the 2 Options, and the simple majority wins since some people already liked the first option without seeing the 2nd option.
