Soo Im in Laughlin making my NBA bets,,, im at the Harrahs,,, I had a great sunday,,, and tipped every time I collected,, so as most know the final game of the eve went into overtime,, no big deal,, an etra 10 mins of play,,, myself and 8 otherguys were watching the game with tickets in hand,,, so its 10pm,,, and ony 50 seconds left,,, and I am talking to the counter lady and say, hey,,thanks for hanging around to the end of the game I appreciate it,,, she grumbles,,, whatever,,, so at 10.08 game ends and I and 6 other go to collect,, the bitch CLOSED the book,,, with 50 sec0nds left in the OT game,,, lol,,, so I walked over to the cage and they said they couldnt cash the ticket till after midnight??<<

WTF is going on here??<< should this bitch be fired??< its obvious she doesnt like her job??< but I tipped her 3 times that day,,,

sigh,,, Im thinking of just not goign back to harrahs with that shitty service.

No she did her job her shift is over time to go

Yea, but sometimes its about going beyond your shift in certain circumstances. Of course - if you have a kind of dead-end job or one that you don't enjoy or your not well paid - i cant blame you for leaving after your shift ends

the minute the book closes the cage needs to be able to cash the tickets, I never understood why it doesnt operate this way.

Years ago I was at the Flamingo in Vegas. Had to wait until morning when the book opened back up to cash my tickets. Was so annoying

I can't believe the cage couldn't cash it. LVH's policy, cage won't cash tickets when SB is open, otherwise they will cash the tickets.

Cash it in the morning… whats the big deal?

what if leaving before cage opens? in a.m. or that night... or want to enjoy the big winnings last night in vegas. None of these were my reason I simply had plans in the morning and wasnt going to be back until the next night, eventually cashed the ticket but over 24hrs later... just an inconvenience

I work for Harrahs. couple of things might have happened.... #1 she might have thought all of the games were over for the night, esp since the game went to overtime and was running long. #2 they might have a set time they closed... what if a baseball game goes into a rain delay and then the start back up late and the game runs until 2-3 am etc. im sure they wont have ppl sitting around for the chance the game might start back up. I think #1 they should make an announcement over the speakers the sportsbook will be closing in 5 mins etc..... or atleast the cashiers cage should cash late winners

I can al but guarantee the girl wasn't like im out of here and just closed shop bc she wanted too

She's probably paid hourly and not allowed to work overtime because of corporate policy. Don't get me wrong. It would still piss me off if I was in your shoes but might be the casino's fault moreso than hers.

never been to Laughlin, if I was you id call up the sportsbook and ask the manager why the closed with .50 seconds left in the game. did you cross over a time mark 11pm or midnight when they might close normally? what if the game goes to 2 ot or 3 ot etc..... they should really have an automated way of cashing out or cashiers cage after book is closed
