Gutless coaching --- (1-2)

Well, 3 coaches that I can think of made some gutless decisions this weekend, and they went 1-2. The only reason they got 1 win was because two teams were playing each other.

Mike Martz - Not trying to score a TD at the end of regulation with a TO in your back pocket. Even if you are afraid of an INT, give the ball to one of the best RB's ever, maybe he will make a play, and he doesn't fumble.

John Fox - Settling for a 40+ yard FG is a joke. Never, never, never, never leave it up to a kick if you have other options. There is too much that can go wrong, and a 40 yard FG is by no means a gimme.

Mike Sherman - Offensive line is starting to dominate the line of scrimmage, you are at the opponents 40 yard line, if you pick up 1 yard, the game is over for all practical purposes. You decide to punt and only gain 20 yards in field position. Now if the punter had executed better, maybe you gain 30 yards or so. But the fact remains that you could have clinched the game without ever letting them touch the ball, with the risk not being very large.

I'd hate to be a GB or Stl fan after this weekend.

I'd rate them in this order starting with the worst call.

1. Martz
2. Sherman
3. Fox

I agree with Martz, but I would still put Fox above Sherman. It's one of my biggest pet peeves to settle on a FG, especially a lengthy one.

Generally when a coach pulls a "Fox", I vigorously root for them to lose the game. I couldn't in this case, as I had the Panther money line.

Conversely, I was thrilled by Martz's move.

Here's another bad coaching move......

The Chief's should have been on side kicking the ball the whole second half. It was pretty obvious that neither team was going to stop the other and since Boerigtor dropped that wide open TD pass in the 1st Quarter they had to catch up somehow. This seems like the only logical way to do it. If they get one onsides kick and the Chief's don't drop so many balls, the Colts are at home watching the game on TV this week.

Worst coaching move might have been KC hiring Greg Robinson to coach defense in the first place. I believe every defense this guy has coached has sucked. Denver sure didn't win the Superbowl because of it's defense and KC sure didn't win this year because of it either. Anyone else think this guy doesn't belong coaching an NFL defense?
