That's not a very open minded comment and wrong in more ways than one. What is a "retard network"?

I was born in New England and moved south at a relatively young age. I always fond it amusing and ironic that my very "open minded" cousins thought that everyone in the south spoke and acted like Andy Griffith or Gomer Pyle. Ironic because they claimed to be so open minded about the differences in people......with the exception of people south of the Mason Dixon line. They never accepted my offer to test their theory of intelligence. I, for example, don't think that everyone from New Jersey hangs out at the beach and acts like the people that television show. I love them but they are hypocrites. By the way, Boston is one of the most segregated and racist cities in this country.

Speaking of assholes...

The Obama administration is pressing for gun control, repeating a demand that Congress pass a ban on gun ownership for Americans on the no-fly list.

“If the U.S. Government has determined that it is too dangerous for you to board a plane then you shouldn’t be able to buy a gun,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said during a press conference in Paris today.

Earnest made the request just days after he called on Americans to talk about gun control during Thanksgiving dinner.

“Congress should pass this law before leaving for the Holidays,” Earnest said.

Earnest’s rhetoric continues the White House efforts pushed by anti-gun activists to do something on gun control.

After the shooting in Colorado over the weekend, President Obama demanded that Congress do something about guns.

“This is not normal. We can’t let it become normal,” he said. “If we truly care about this … then we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough.”

Like that’s going to work. If someone, especially a criminal wants a gun, they’ll get a gun, laws or no laws. You need to look no further than Chicago, the gun law and murder capital of the US.

I would have to say guns aren't the root of the problem, I know many people who own lots of guns and they aren't shooting people. Gun control could be effective if we were able to take every illegal gun off the street, but that's simply not feasible. I don't have the answer, I think there needs to be some sort of gun control but have no idea what is feasible. We do have a few gun nuts that go out and kill a bunch of people randomly, how do you stop that? Does less guns solve that problem? Also, Chicago and many inner city deaths are results of gang violence. Will less guns decrease the shootings? Maybe a little but maybe the answer needs to be sweeping the cities of gangs and gang violence. I bet we are already trying to do that. Maybe we need to be stricter with penalties and laws but the jails are over crowded, then maybe we need to build more jails or how about we release people who are serving lengthy sentences for marijuana charges and filling the prisons with gangs. If we were able stop inner city gang activity and gun trafficking we would be a lot better off, ass for the nuts who shoot people, we really have no solution other than to recognize crazy and try to give them the help they need, but people and politicians are against those programs.

Thanks Obama!

The National Rifle Association thanked President Barack Obama in a statement Tuesday for signing several pro-gun measures into law when he signed the National Defense Authorization Act last week.

The massive defense budget authorization bill includes several NRA-backed measures, including expanded gun rights for personnel on U.S. military bases and a measure that bans the Environmental Protection Agency from prohibiting traditional ammunition. The NRA opened the press release by giving credit to Obama for signing the bill and concluded by thanking lawmakers who supported it.

More Americans had their backgrounds checked purchasing guns on Black Friday than any day on record, according to data released by the FBI this week.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 185,345 requests on Nov. 27, one of the largest retail sales days in the country.

"This was an approximate 5% increase over the 175,754 received on Black Friday 2014," wrote Stephen Fischer, the FBI's chief of multimedia productions. "The previous high for receipts were the 177,170 received on 12/21/2012."

Since 1998, FBI data shows that the bureau has processed requests for more than 220 million firearm purchases.
