It's Cody Reed day!!!
Cody Reed.jpg
Without looking back, I think we've made money on him his last 4 or 5 outings. Either straight up betting against him, opposing TT against him, or the game total. Although his era has been better his last 3 games, his WHIP has stayed the same. This poor kid is 0-5 and the Reds are 0-7 in his starts. In his starts, the average total rpg is 11.3 with the opposing team scoring 8.3 of those runs. Don't jump off a moving money train. We'll find the right play for tomorrow.

Regardless of results, the oddmakers seem to "respect" Cody Reed. I would guess Cards ~-145 and O/U 8.5. Wasn't it Reed who had the Kershaw-esque -210 against the Braves his last start...which was close until a late inning loss.

I don't think that was Reed Chugs. Probably DeSclafani. Wacha is good to give up some runs also. Think we're gonna make an early play on this.

August 3rd:

Cards/Reds over 9 -110 2.2/2
Cards -140 1.4/1

Reds lost some pop trading away Bruce, but should be able to help the over. Cards are in the hunt, and they need to win games like this to see the playoffs.

Checking it was Reed vs Braves (Jenkins) back on the 19th (two starts ago, time flies... Reed got canned by the soft-hitting post-All Star break Giants last time out). The opening line was like Reds -135 and then it just skyrocketed to Reds -200+ at game time. Because the question was raised "WTF is Reed doing as a -200 fav?!?!" Reed put up a fight but they, of course, lost in extra and at least pushed the Over if not exceeded.

People are swearing Reed will be something but it doesn't appear to be this season. This is the time of year where the damn Cardinals turn it up a notch and put pressure on (usually it's fully eliminate in other years) my Cubbies.

Good research Chugs. That line may have went up based on the Reds organization pumping him up as the next great thing, or the Braves being just as horrible. He may turn into something good at some point, but right now he sucks. His problem is he falls behind in the count with his breaking stuff. Then he throws meatballs over the plate, and the hitters just sit back and tee off on him.

Here's to history hopefully repeating itself, Chuggs. @):) I say that in good fun of course. I don't think picking up Zach Duke was the move we needed to close the gap between our rivals up North. Hopefully we can make it interesting, but I'm thinking this is your year to take the Central and possibly more. Here's to some fun September baseball and a sprint to the finish. :toast:

Of course! I hope your right but know the history...so trying to be quietly realistic without getting too optimistic. I have a lot of friends that hate the Cards like you were the Packers...but I've always thought of it more as a friendly rivalry than bitter enemies. Summer of '98 still my sports apex with Sosa and McGwire fighting it out and ending it with the bearhug.

Mo's August 3rd

August 3rd:

Cards/Reds over 9 -110 2.2/2
Cards -140 2.8/2 POD
Giants/Phillies over 7.5 1.1/1

For whatever reason, Phillies batters hit Cueto pretty well. Nola is no stranger to giving up runs.

Went 1-1 last night with the POD winning, and picking up 1.5 units. Playing the clowns play boosted the bankroll more, but not my personal record here.

2016 2nd Half POD Sides: 9-4 +9.40 units
2016 2nd Half POD Totals: 2-2 +0.60 units
2016 2nd Half Sides: 28-20 +19.70 units

2016 2nd Half TTs: 3-5 -2.80 units
2016 2nd Half Cumulative: 59-45 +16.35 units
