actually if it's sloppy that won't help tech. the triple option they run has a lot of pitches & stretching the field horizontaly. wet, sloppy field equals wet ball & speed gets reduced so they'll have a hard time getting around the end & turning upfield. not to mention, rain dosen't hurt miami's passing attack nearly as much as wind would. recievers already know where they're going as opposed to the d-backs.

with miami off a bye, this is almost like the end of the year here going in to the bowls. think about that.. you would expect them to be ready for this option, when no the time off just increases chances of making mistakes.. miami played one game against a team who almost lost to a D2 school, explain that, tech surely did not have great success with clemson after the trickery was finished and them explosive plays, but i believe clemson with the rookie qb would trash the U on a neutral site fwiw.. i have spoken to a few people who attend the U this afternoon on my break for work and all who said it was gorgeous and the storms are blowing by, theres a 30% chance of rain in the state where it rains every other hour, vegas not worried to much bout the weather as the total hasnt moved off 53 1/2 ,54. this total favors a more explosive team such as tech, who in my mind thought the game was over and clemson was just going to throw in the towell, this happens from time to time, but coaching is for sure the biggest advantage in this game, and i got tech at 6, im sure it might rise late to 4 1/2 but i believe they ruin the Us home coming party.

adding o54, ga tech gives up 27 late to clemson, mia gives up 34 to a ? of FSU, each side of the ball loaaaded with play makers..mia missing some key defensive players, this reminds me of the old ART OF WAR theory in this total, "every battle is already decided before it is ever fought". side note::: everyone remember about MIA schedule, they need this game as bad as the last one, with VA TECH and OKLAHOMA coming up, your gonna see a hungry hungry offense i blieve its absolutely imperative for them to force the ball down field and out score ga tech with people missing on defense. ga tech will simply return scores or get into some mess maybe a safety, a few fgs, or two pt conversion and really alter this final, havint this maybe a two to three pt win, projected final, MIA - 31, Ga tech- 28
Stopping the triple option requires intelligence... giving up 30+ to a very weak Florida St team, makes me question if Miami is truly a more superior defense then last years team that got trounced by this GTech running game. I might eat my words, but I'm thinking more of the same this year. GTech runs all over this aggressive non-gap controlling defense!
my original thoughts all depend on wether the field is sloppy or not. if the field is relatively dry than the advantage does lie with tech. fla st. actually did most of their damage through the air. miami's run defense did a pretty good job on fla st. holding them to 110 yds on 30 carries. 2 of those runs were 30 & 27 yds so they did give up a couple big plays but those will be minimal in the running game if the field is bad.
