Speaking of which, you may know, how many GSM phone lines can a single cedula # own?

i think 3

Yes, that's what everyone thinks. Questions is, is it true?

BTW, do you know if a minor (with cedula) can solicit a telephone line?

I've had a hell of a time trying to navigate GrupoICE's website to find out where (online) you can solicit a telephone line and get such questions answered.

What's the present waiting time looking like? Last line I got took 7 months.

(edit: actually last GSM phone line I got took 15 minutes, in Bogota. Costa Rica is so ass backwards.)

Is this something you plan to be selling on a regular basis? I need a 4th line in October.

I should have these on a regular basis. And to answer your question you can have 5 GSM lines per cedula. However that may change 4 times by tomorrow, depending on who you talk to at ICE. I have confirmed this several times though

I got one last week for 12.500 colones ($20) brand new at the ICE office, they have plenty, it came out on the news weeks ago. Why would somebody want to pay $200 ?????

$20 for line
$100+ for corporation
$50-100 for throw-away cell phone (need receipt for ICE)
$? lost waiting for corporation
$? lost waiting for line
$? time spent in line at ICE

Might make sense for non-cedula holders who already have a sweet phone but no local line nor local S.A.

If you don't have to wait for a line, it doesn't make sense for me.

Always it's better to own the line. I had my first line owned by a "friend" and she canceled it when she left the country.

It took me 5 minutes and cost me 20 bucks, maybe you two clowns are ass backwards. Is that too much time and money for you????

15 minutes, as a tourist, no-contract.

You try that here you dimwitted *****.

I don't believe you solicited and obtained a GSM chip in the same day, let alone in 5 minutes total, including waiting in line; but if you did that's great news.

you can "buy" a receipt at a pawn shop and show them that... totally legit

Yeah, just buying the receipt is totally legit, LOL.

So you go to a pawn shop and ask them to buy & sell your own phone back to you? (the receipt ought to show the correct brand/model #, if not even correct serial #, no?) How much they charge for such a service? Recommended pawn shops?

(I repeat my ass backwards comment)

Any pawn shop will do it for you and charge you no more than 5.000 colones ($10). If you look as goofy as the internet dork in your avatar you might get charged double, still only $20 bucks.

If you're buying the line from a guy on the board, then all you need is an unlocked cell phone. You can buy those pretty much anywhere...
