And I'll never deny I'd have a drink with him anytime, a good guy if you got to know him.

Not when I knew him. He actually worked for my company when he was part of the student athlete 89er summer jobs program back in the 80's. He was one of the most obnoxious kids that I've ever ran into. Caused nothing but trouble, and didn't show up for work half the time. Of course it wasn't long after that when he hired an agent and re-did his image into The Boz and started driving around in a white corvette.

Yeah, but I drove a black ragtop, and he loved it, took him for a drive one night. After you and he (figuratively) got over the "Boz" hype, he could be down to earth. Lost touch with him after I moved to Tulsa from the City, so it's been kind of weird seeing him on some commercial here in Charlotte, and then this "30 for 30" ESPN show, LOL. As I posted out last week or so, my first run in with him saved me the price of a stupid bitch, lol.

This documentary will be interesting. It was made by the same director who made "Pony Excess." Which wasn't exactly flattering to SMU. I don't know how long you knew Bosworth, but take my word for it, he was a jerk. He comes from a wealthy family, so he pretty much got everything he wanted. He did do a DVD with Barry Switzer and some of the Sooners former players in a town hall type get together that had some great stories told of those times. Bosworth was one who broke down in tears and asked to be forgiven for the way he acted back in those days. But I don't know if all of that was fake or real. He is an actor. At least that's what I've been told...LOL

I told him I was too smart for his "bullshit," I'll drop you off right here and now......guess we were at least 40 miles north on Portland, way past Mathis Bros. compound, lol. I'm not easily intimidated, and I got a Chem E Degree with high honors, so you're not gonna bullshit me. Like I said, and I stand by it, when he was real and honest, not a bad guy. Personally, hated him when he first started playing for the Sooners, but no doubt, he fit the Switzer mode well. Switzer probably felt he was him reincarnated....before he died, lol.

I never met him. He has to be one of the saddest sports figures ever for what he could have been had it not been for some bad advice he got along the way. Definitely the best RB that I've ever seen.

If this game gets to 3 points then I'd have to lean with Florida state. However I am on board with the CG here, in the fact that this "should" be the best defense Florida state sees all year. It's a Thursday night game, which are always awkward and tough games and it's at home for Louisville. That's the best recipe you could ask for as a program looking to knock off an elite playoff team. Florida state can score, but they don't run it well, and their defense is a fraction of what it was last year. If it wasn't for Clemson shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly and dabo being dabo, Florida state loses that game by two scores. And Clemson is average at best this year. Then Florida state struggled again with NC state. Every team has a kryptonite tho, so I don't look into that game as much. I just don't buy the hype of Florida state. Jameis is great, but the game can not be won by one player. I like Louisville here especially if sharp money comes in late on the Seminoles. Give me Louisville at +6 but nothing lower.

Damn GS, brought back a lot of memories, good and bad, lol. Guess the Hollywood thing didn't work out as well as he would have liked.

Littler Joe Washington could run circles around Pruitt. I got to meet Little Joe in Vegas many years ago in Vegas. He was sitting alone at a poker table at the Riviera and I walked up and struck up a conversation. Really super nice guy. And very smart. He was a 4 point student throughout his playing days at OU.

Yeah, liked Washington a lot as well. But unlike you, I never met him. I DID however, meet Greg at an event, probably the biggest reason I became a Sooner fan, that and the fact my best friend in middle school was from Soonerland and we watched games together. I seriously doubt Joe could run circles around Pruitt though, the only reason I brought him up is the thread was leaning towards "wasted" potential, and Pruitt, as much as any RB in the country, falls under that title. Anyway, always nice to go back in time, lol, especially when you're getting older.

I thought it was pretty funny when Pitt came to Norman back when they had Tony Dorsett. Everybody always used to pronounce his last name as Dorsit. And Dorsett wanted to be called Dor (set). So when he came to town Greg Pruitt said he wanted to now go by the name of Greg Pru (et). I always thought that was kind of hilarious. But that was the way Pruitt was. He was always a great media interview. Kind of like the Boz was.

I don't like self-centered people, especially sports figures. Pruitt was really a humble guy, came from a rather poor upbringing. I think that all was done on behalf of the school, jmho. As for Tony, my father is a Pitt alum, we really don't want to go there, lol. I just got "legal" in Tennessee when they made their run in '76, so I can't begin to tell you how many beers went down that season. I remember the game in 'Nawlins against Georgia like it was played last night. If I had had 30 more pounds on, no telling where I would have played.

All I remember is when an overrated Pitt came to town, OU safety Scott Hill laid a flying through the air hit on Dorsett that had him seeing double for weeks. He never came back in the game after that hit.

And all I remember, AND HEARD mind you, for years, was that Tony won the Heisman and Pitt won the title. End of story, it is what it is, what'ya gonna do. My dad for years rode my ass about playing for Pitt, and I never wanted to play for anyone. That's why I'm zero cap, I could play pro if I wanted, never shot worse than 75 at Southern, and that round was in a 40 mph wind. BUT, I like to catch da ball, you throw it out of a 100 story building in Manhattan, I'm gonna catch it, lol. Some shit just runs in your veins. GL this weekend my friend, this tale is to be continued, I got a lot more in the bag.
