did u even watch the fight?

griff had control for one round as Rampage owned him for 4 whole rounds and broke his eye open.

HOW DO U LOSE A TITLE WHEN U BLOODY THE OPPONENT UP AND U DOMINATE 4 of 5 RNDS???

RAMPAGE DIDNT EVEN HAVE A SWEAT BREAK!!!

WTF how rigged was that fight???

That left leg was jello after the 1st kick. Pretty much decided the fight right there.

That fight sucked & that card sucked.

I had rampage in a 7 team parlay with 450 pending on the win..that is why i am upset....it jus looked a little judgy to me.

seems as if this is worse then boxings judge calls.

I didn't bet the fight. Having said that I felt the decision was wrong. I thought Jackson won rounds 1,3 and 4. Griffen won rounds 2 and 5. griffen dominated round 2 so a 10-8 there and the fight was a draw IMO.

I watched the whole thing & was calling draw or split decision.

Are they trying to piss us off as much as boxing has?

Well, that seals the bullshit factor then. I guess I wasn't being biased.

Actually I like all fights. I breathe and bleed for boxing as well:drink:Anyways, the UFC wanted Griffen to win without a doubt IMO. That's why the commentators were slobbering all over him. Griffen didn't win that fight decisively at all. He's vulnerable as hell though and won't keep the title long.

He was more active on the feet. The shots that weren't doing a ton of damage score points. He had an active guard when on his back and I thought the fight could have gone either way. The 49-46 score was a little wack but Forrest winning did not surprise me since I didn't think anyone did anything to be a clear winner.

IMO, 1st and 3rd were clear Rampage rounds, second a clear 10-8 for Forrest, 5th more than likely 10-9 Forrest and the 4th I thought Rampage won, but I can see it possibly going the other way. Personally I think it was 47-47 but I can see 48-46, no idea where someone gets 49-46 unless they had the 4th 10-10.

Dana White should show some stones and post the points after each round.

Couldn't believe when Rogan said Forrest was winning midway through the 4th. I actually thought it was a good fight and the card was better than I expected. Only the Cote fight wasn't a good one.

I thought it was a really bad card. If they are going to keep charging $44 to watch these fights, they better get better matchups.

Here is how the judges scored it.

Adalaide Byrd
Round 1: 10-9 Griffin
Round 2: 10-8 Griffin
Round 3: 10-9 Griffin
Round 4: 10-9 Jackson
Round 5: 10-9 Jackson
Nelson Hamilton
Round 1: 10-9 Jackson
Round 2: 10-8 Griffin
Round 3: 10-9 Griffin
Round 4: 10-9 Jackson
Round 5: 10-9 Griffin
Roy Silbert
Round 1: 10-9 Griffin
Round 2: 10-9 Griffin
Round 3: 10-9 Griffin
Round 4: 10-9 Jackson
Round 5: 10-9 Griffin

Here is an interesting interview with Big John McCarthy about judges and MMA.

I’m not sure if this has been addressed before … I know Big John has mentioned in passing why he retired from refereeing but I haven’t seen it explained in this much detail outside of a TV interview that I was way too lazy to transcribe. But here it is: the reason why.
Z: Why did you walk away?
JM: I walked away because I was frustrated. I was frustrated with the way some things were being handled. I didn’t believe that there were people being put into positions that had the ability to judge fights or referee fights, that knew what they were doing. That bothered me. It bothered me because I’m looking at a judge that is gonna judge a fighter’s fight and he doesn’t understand what those fighters are doing. And this person has the ability to affect the fighter’s livelyhood. And it’s wrong. And I felt like a hypocrite because I worked for the commission and they were allowing this kind of person to be in a position of power and to have that say over who’s going to win the fight. I just didn’t want to be part of that.
Z: Wow.
JM: It just upset me to the point where I didn’t want to do this anymore. I love the refereeing. I love doing that. It’s just people that are out there, they just don’t know what is going on in a fight. Fighters are doing things on the ground, they have no concept of what is taking place. They really don’t understand who is in control of the fight. They don’t understand the techniques that are being applied. And if you don’t understand that, how are you able to make an educated judgment on who wins that fight? You can take a look at the last Ultimate Fight Night. Evan Tanner against Kendall Grove. There was a judge there who gave that fight to Evan Tanner. How do you do that? I don’t know. Taking nothing away from Evan, he’s a great fighter, but he did not win that fight. And to say he did, it’s a crime.
Z: How are these incompetent judges getting their jobs?
JM: You know what, you tell me.
I think we all know how stupid judges and refs can be … as a whole, many commissions seem to be running ‘good ol boys’ clubs where it’s not what you know but who you know. But I’m surprised that it’s so bad that Big John would be willing to retire in order to not be associated with it any more.

Yes I watched the fight ! Did you ? My main point was that Rampage was simply a shell of his previous fights ! He clearly won the 4 th round but He lost the 1 st. round because He was getting his left leg kicked at will and He lost the 2 nd. round 10-8. After winning the 4 th. round, I expected Rampage to come out and take Griffin out. Instead He pussyfoots around and at best earned a 10-10 even round. I had $$ on Rampage and you bet I was very worried as I scored fight 48-47 for Griffin. 49-46 is ridiculous I agree but what a dismal performance by what many thought was UFC finest. I think that Rampage thought that this would be another easy victory and overlooked Griffin. I think this was a very close fight and very hard to score but like I said earlier... I had money on Rampage and I thought He sucked big time.

Sad to see a belt change hands over a weak fight like that... I don't fault anyone, as I can see 48-47 Forrest, but still sucks to win/lose a belt like that.

Really wish Rampage's corner had told him to go out strong in the 5th.

Can't wait for Affliction on the 19th.
