One of my favorites (Pittsburgh)

The City of Champions, now this city has had some bigtime legendary figures!

From the immaculate reception to the golden arm of Roberto Clemente, Pops, Franco, Swann...the Hockey teams they had, this is a city with many huge sports figures...Does anyone stand out as the very best though?

He is right at the top, but I would side with Roberto Clemente over him...

Clemente just had a magical presence to him, even the way he died, similar to Dale Earnhart, dying at the peak of their careers in dramatic and heroic fashion...

All the Steeler greats and no one really stands out as drop dead great! Wow , I am talking about death more than I care to here lol..

Clemente finishing on exactly 3000 hits, and didn`t he die on Christmas day or was he born on Christmas day and died on New Years eve?

I remember as a little leaguer having a bat with Roberto Clemente`s name at the top...I rmember him having that nervous twitch, he would kinda shake his neck all around...the guy was just the coolest player, I love watching old highlights of him...

There was nothing Clemente didn't do well.No holes in his game at all.Believe there was a quote from a manager, when asked by a reporter how to stop Clemente, his answer..."tighten the immigration laws."

There are some great old time Pirates too...I don`t think there is much in the old time Steelers files...from what I heard they absolutely stunk til Noll got there..my gosh they had some clown uniforms too...well speaking of clown uni`s the Pirates had some strange looking getups too,lol...All those noisey pinstiped mix and match, and the funny hats....Those hats were cool though, for the time,lol...It was a very loud time period for baseball uniforms.

The only Vietnam Vet with a 1000 yrd season and 4 super bowl rings...and missing part of his foot....not a bad accomplishment for an undersized , slow, white guy lol
