now if you want to talk about great coaching, all you need to do is watch the zags. this team is so much better than the start of season when theyt lost to stanford and st joes.

this team will finally get a break and get the seed they deserve.

there isn't a team out west that has a chance.

of course i see in the future the tourney selection committee putting the screws to them and giving them a washington team for the first game. wouldn't surprise me at all.

What Washington team is going to get a 15 seed?

Gonzaga dominates because they have 10,000% of the talent of any other WCC team. If they played in the a major conference, they'd be lucky to even recieve an at-large bid.

are you nuts.

and i was kidding about the at large bid for washington. the tournanment screws the zags every year.

two loss's
stanford
st joes

and you are telling they wouldn't receive a at large bid.

first of all they would win the big ten.
second with a chance of playing stanford again, they might win the pac ten.

They certinaly would not win the pac ten. As bad as the big ten is, I highly doubt they'd win that either. They wouldn't even finish in the top five if they played in the ACC.

Let's look at there quality wins this season:
Washington-at the very start of the season, before that team had a clue. Washington would beat the Zags if they played today.

Maryland-Hardly a strong team.

Missouri-probably the most inconsistent team in the country.

So, their best three wins of the entire season have come against three teams on the bubble for the NCAAs. The Zags are the most overrated team in the country right now. They run up the score on weak WCC teams, big deal.

here we go again, talking about being overrated.

first of all i watch the big ten every week, and i'll tell you what they would beat any team in the big ten by 10 points.

how can you be overrated when you are ranked third in the whole country. maybe over ranked a little, but this isn't mich state we are talking about.

the zags lost in double over time last year to the Arizona Wildcats. what did arizona finish this year in the pac ten. second. and they lost half their team, definetly not as good as last year.

the zags have their whole team back, plus a few freshman that can really play. i would spend to much of your money betting against the zags, your pocket book will be empty pretty quick.

a few years ago the zags with a worse team then this to uconn down to the wire. ucon won the national championship.

turiaf*best player on france international team as a amat.
violet* will be drafted late.
stepp* they talk about being the best guard ever out of gonzaga. ever hear of stockton.

danny ainge ain't there to go fly fishing.

I will answer to every single point you made, then I really need to get some zzzzs.

1)first of all i watch the big ten every week, and i'll tell you what they would beat any team in the big ten by 10 points
-I live in big ten country too. They would lose at Madison and Champaigne. I really think they'd be the third best team in the big ten.

2)"how can you be overrated when you are ranked third in the whole country.
-You pretty much answered answered your own question there.

3)the zags lost in double over time last year to the Arizona Wildcats. what did arizona finish this year in the pac ten. second. and they lost half their team, definetly not as good as last year.

Arizona's starting five would run circles around Gonzaga's this year. Their lack of depth would eventually result in a very close game, but that really is a silly comparison. I could give you one-hundred examples where Team A played Team B tough last season, is returning more players, and still wouldn't be nearly as good as Team B this year.

4)the zags have their whole team back, plus a few freshman that can really play. i would spend to much of your money betting against the zags, your pocket book will be empty pretty quick.
-Sure, you'll lose a lot if you consistently bet against the Zags playing completely inferior competition. They're notorious for running up the scores on bad teams. Running up the score doesn't impress me.

5)Again, a silly comparison. Means nothing this year.

6) Comparing Stepp to Stockton is like comparing McCants to Jordan. Nothing more than Vitale and the other idiots talking out of there ass.

Please bet those Zags' lines up after the first round for me. It would be appreciated. Thanks.

kind of like tonight's pushing the line up.

and the zags do not run the score up. have never seen it. they play 10 guys, what else are you suppose to do. play the manager. you forget about fox, a starter who is hurt.

arizona lost to oregon st by 15, and you are telling me they would run circles around the zags, quit kidding yourself.

and yea, the zags might not win at madison, their tough physical style defense might give them a problem, but wisconsin has only one scorer, the zags have so many i can't count.

without walton going off last year in that game, arizoan would of lost to them last year. i know you can;'t compare teams from year to year, but this zag team has the whole team coming back. absolutely no comparison.

keep betting against them, i like good line value.

Gonzaga would not beat every team in the Big 10 by 10 points, are you kiddin me? Wiscy, MSU, and Illinois would be right with them and probably beat them. Gonzaga is good, but the get a whole few months off playing cupcakes during conference while major conferences are doing battle night in and night out.

Im surprised you watch the Big 10 every week and come to this conclusion, did you notice the Big 10 actually plays good defense?

gonzaga vs the acc

maryland at home played gonzaga.

maryland 68 gonzaga 82.(now this is a total of 14 points on the road, across the country.)

these are all home games by maryland and the score.

maryland wins

north carolina by 6
wisconsin by 6
duke by 8
fsu by 11
clemson by 21
virginia by 9

maryland loss's
wake by 8
g tech by 11
nc state by 12

by my count the zags gave maryland their worst loss at home of any team.

and you know what, while wisconsin was losing at maryland by 6, the zags won by 14, a blowout.

until someone actually comes back with a agruement that even makes sense, I'm done.

so since all guys say the zags suck, then on your 64 sheet when you fill them out, i"m assumming you all will have gonzaga losing in the first round.

best of luck.

I'm not sure why you left out the top 2 teams in the Big 10 when did your whatever that was. But anyway, you should know that it doesnt matter who lost to who its who is better in the matchup and Gonzaga will not blow out Wiscy or Illinois who actually play defense.

I know you are trying to make it look like Maryland "handled" Wiscy with the huge 6 pt victory, you fail to mention that was an overtime game. GONZAGA 62 SANTA CLARA 61 took a miracle finish for Gonzaga to win, how about that argument?

Let's be real, no way would the Zags be undefeated in one of the power conferences, but they would challenge for the title.

This team is very good, they have lots of size and lots of depth, plus they have the experience of facing good teams in the tournament and will be focused.

They will probable be a two seed and could very easily make the final four if they get placed with St. Joe's or Standford.

Plus the Zags will be playing the first 2 games in Seattle (a little home crowd don't you think)

truely - I have the utmost respect for you but I have to agree with matt here

Wisky and Illinois would have their way with gonzaga IMO.

Maryland is not a good example of a good team this year - they are very young and very inconsistent.

My opinion is that the ACC is overrated this year as well. I know people will disagree with me on this one but I believe that wake, NCST, and GT are all very streaky and very vulnerable if they arent paying attention.

Not to mention the inconsistency of Clemson, FSU, and virginia... (and duke for that matter)

Truly, i totally agree that Gonzaga is a very, very well coached team -- Mark Few does a great job preparing this club to play and for those of you who watched the Gonzaga/Missouri game earlier in the year know what kind of game coach he is -- anyone who doesn't think a coach can have an impact on the outcome of a tight game should watch that game again.

I don't want to argue about how good Gonzaga is or is not, but I think it is ridiculous to discount their win at Maryland.....and for those big ten backers, anyone know who lost to Maryland 4 days before Gonzaga beat them by double digits on their own floor? I'll give you a hint -- Wisconsin.

Boy, with that type of loss on its resume (I meand who COULDN'T beat Maryland), it would be a surprise to see Wisconsin make the dance.

first i have a lot of respect for matt and his handicapping. he is solid, and most of all he is sollid in the big ten which in my opinion is one of the hardest conf to capp.
but to say gonzaga wouldn't make the dance, or couldn't beat a big ten team by 10 is crazy.

i never said gonzaga would go undefeated in a power conf. but to say they couldn't win it, that's foolish.

now we can't have it both ways. you say gonzaga plays a week schedule and i show you the maryland info. then you come back saying they are inconsistant. maybe maryland played their best game of the year agaisnt the zags. i watched the game, maryland had no business being on the same floor.

their is only one team undefeated. talking consistancy

this is still gonzaga's best team to date, in the dance a few years ago they had uconn beat up until 3 minutes left and the officials let uconn foul, climb up and down their back, it was ridiculous. I stopped watching basketball for two years after that for the fact of what was the point. Are we ever going to have a small school actually get a fair shot. the media pumps all these crazy ideas into everyones head about the power conf being so damn good, well they really are not.

jaypaw you are right, the acc is overrated. until that conf learns to play some defense, it will always be a showtime conf.

as far as the big ten goes, i think they are better than people think. a couple of years when all you heard about was how bad the big ten was, i think that year they put 2 into the final four, and indiana played for the title.

i feel the best conf at the end of the day is going to be the sec. i hate to say that, but look at who they have beat and by how many.

i don't care about seeding, i just feel that this is gonzaga's year to make the final four.

I'm confused. You talk about how the ACC is overrated but you point to a big Gonzaga win over the 7th place team in the ACC in Maryland. Would Gonzaga be favored on a neutral court against Duke? No. Nc State-No, Wake-No, UNC-No, G-Tech-maybe. Gonzaga is a very good team but not exactly known for their defense either. This is Gonzaga's best team because of Violette and Turiaf. Those guys are beasts. I also think Morrison will be a hell of a player. They also have that Texas Tech transfer available next year. The cuppard is full at Gonzaga. However, the ACC is the best conference and thats why they might have 7 out of 9 teams in the NCAAs. That's amazing.

no i only pointed out the gonzaga win for the fact that everyone was saying they couldn't beat a big conf team by 10 or more. that's why i stated it.
and the fact they gave them their worse home loss says something i think. regardless of being 7th in the conf.
maryland being 7th in the conf is completely diff than northwestern being 7th. that was my point.

saying the acc is overrated is something i feel, now granted they are one or two overall, i'm just sick of hearing how good they are.

purdue beat duke. smu beat purdue. michigan beat nc state. boston beat michigan.

point is, these kids are college kids, not pros. anyone can beat anyone, and for someone to say gonzaga doesn't have a chance to get an at-large bid in a big conf, or win a conf, or beat a team by 10 points is just down right stupid.

u are talking about gonzagas weak schedule?

thats because they have to go on the road to play any tough teams because nobody wants to come and play AT GONZAGA, just like no one wants to play at Utah State or Utah or any other west coast mid major!

they better get a #1 or #2 seed but for some reason i dont see the committee giving them the credit.....just like when they got the #6 seed when they were #6 in the country
