Or maybe I'll go watch it at Maria Bonita's and root the Mexicans in, atleast if the Ticos lose we wont have to be watching the beer cans and food wrappers(Tico Confetti)blowing around in the streets for the next couple days.

Recently have been playing Little Big Planet, got 9 out of 10 in all the reviews and also won the Editors Choice Award for 2008 on a couple reputable gaming sites. The game, with its cartoony "Tim Burton" vibe not only is fun to play but also gives you the ability to create levels, enemies, and complex machines.

Any real gamer knows that the "platformer" is the OG of vidoe games, Pitfall, Mario, Sonic, Tomb Raider, Platformer, Platformer, Platformer. This whole First Person Shooter craze is getting out hand and I have to give it to Sony for finally releasing something original because as a long-time gamer its been too long.

Trash after big events, wow only in CR. I guess you never read this in the Redneck Times.

The Trash Was Historic, Too
Workers Pull an All-Nighter to Clear Spectators' Detritus

By Petula Dvorak
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, January 22, 2009; Page B01

Washington trash trucks hauled away at least 130 tons of garbage after the inauguration of President Obama, with more to go. National Park Service workers picked up almost 100 tons on the Mall and near the White House.

Because most trash cans had been removed for security reasons and a record-breaking crowd gathered downtown, the mountain of rubbish left behind was of historic proportions.

"More than any Fourth of July, more than any event we've seen," Park Service spokesman William Line said.

The detritus included handwarmer packets, bottles, food, newspapers, blankets, gloves, coolers and a table or two, in addition to items bought from street vendors.

"They left behind Obama hats, Obama bags, Obama socks," said Mafara Hobson, spokeswoman for Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D). "People left behind a lot of trash. A lot of it was the vendors along the parade route, too."

About 110 city workers were assembled downtown at 6 p.m. Tuesday, ready to begin their all-night cleanup. But with crowds still thick in the streets, the hardest work had to wait, said Nancee Lyons, a Department of Public Works spokeswoman who watched some of the overnight cleanup.

"There was so much trash left behind. Piles and piles," Lyons said. "When all those people were there, you didn't realize how bad it was. But once they left, we saw the work ahead."

You should see my property at the beach after semana santa. All you egg eaters go out to the beach camp on my property and leave behind a mountain of beer cans, diapers, bags of garbage. Takes weeks to clean up the mess the ticos leave behind on the beach.

It always amazes me about how Ticos so passionately defend their country and are always the first to tell you how beautiful it is, but treat it worse than any group I've ever seen.

Yeah just about every beach in CR is ruined for about two weeks to a month after Semana Santa, we have litterbugs back home but its not so socially acceptable like it is here.

If CR had the money to clean the beaches everyday like they do in the US maybe. If you gringos living here payed income taxes then it might also help improve some things.

Being from western canada I'm just not used to seeing this amount of garbage in the streets... Hell when I was young if you littered in the school yard the other kids would kick your ass. In vancouver shit like that is socially unacceptable.

Costa Rica gets plenty of money from gringos and Ticos. Its not our fault your government is so corrupt. They give away all there concessions to foreign countries. Look at all the money riteve takes in. Who's building the highway to the beach. What did they have to give china to build the new stadium? Also where does all the ridiculous taxes on cars go? What about all the import taxes on goods. No excuse for ticos to litter. People in the states dont trash the beach like they do down here. Go out to arenal you'll be in the jungle and you see piles and piles of trash thrown on the sides of the road.

And you think our goverment is corrupt? Well at least we don´t start wars in which thousands of inocent people die for oil. That´s beyond corruption.

No you guys start wars where your bread and butter dies, tell your people to quit throwing trash around so your grandkids might have a legacy. Dont kid yourself Jack, only trashy people litter and its not the goverments job to follow you around with a broom and dustpan.

I see people throw trash out their windows all the time and the Ticos say nothing, difference is that Gringos will say something as I do all the time, more often than not while in the process of picking up their discarded wrapper so i can throw it in the garbage can where it belongs.

Yes the trash is a bigger problem here, but you make it sound like it only happens here, never in the US. People are ignorant and litter, no doubt about that. But again, the problem wouldn´t be as big as it is if CR had the money to clean up a bit. How often do you think beaches are cleaned here? A few times a year maybe. How often in the US? Every single day in certain areas.

Yes its bad and it happens in a much larger scale here in CR than in the US, but you guys have dirty cities also. Would love to see data on how much $$$ US cities invest in cleaning compared to CR.
