Rob,

Taking steroids was never a LEGAL issue. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but it was never against the LAW of the country to use steroids (at worst, it is a misdemeaner I believe), it was only against the RULES of baseball. That's why Congress got all indignant earlier this year, claiming that they needed "to do something about this latest crisis". So they climed aboard their white horses and grandstanded for the American people for a while about how they were gonna save the union from this latest scourge. Then, after winning some political points from the masses and after the issue died down a little, they went back to dealing with more pressing issues like taxing fast food, searching for the WMD's, and of course compaigning for re-election.

Thankfully, Congress never did anything about the "crisis", so the only legal issue here remains - did Barry LIE about using steroids while under oath. Ironically, the actual USE of the steroids wouldn't have gotten him in trouble with the law. As so often is the case, though, the coverup is worse than the crime.

As for my Skybook winnings, I still got a long way to go to roll them over, but I'm still adding to them (up about $500 since)

The MD Kid, Steroids are illegal without a doctors prescription. This is why BALCO owner is spilling the beans to save his ass. Pro Wrestlers were indicted a few years back for steroid use. Its low priority on the police docket but if they can get publicity by going after the people who are dealing it to big name stars, they'll do it.

Is this post for real? Or is Chuck just stirring some sh!t?

Wake up and smell the coffee people! Many, many athletes cheat like hell! Way of the world. Nuff said!

Any many many people steal. Does that make it o.k? Your argument is lame, pathetic, and an illustration of your ignorance.

BTW, I met the guy. He is the rudest, most arrogant prick on the planet. If he wasnt cheating, I could see his arrogance. But he is cheating slime that has no right to be as cocky as he is.

Barry has said the only record he wants to break is Babe Ruth's 714 HR because he is white. Hey Barry don't forget to say you could'nt do it without steroids.

You have to be kidding me. Ruth was one of the greatest players ever to play the game. He did wonders for baseball too by going around putting on hitting clinics which drove up attendance. Put today's players using the same equipment that the old timers used. And the much softer wound balls of the old time and lets see how many HR's that they hit.

I am going to reserve my judgement until all the facts are out. So far there is a lot of speculation but absolutedly no proof that Bonds actually ever used Steroids. We do know that Sammy Sosa used a corked bat. If a person tells you that someone says He saw me smoke a cigar doesn't make it a fact that I ever smoked a cigar.Heresay evidence is never allowed as evidence in any court. Just yesterday Conte once again stated that He never supplied Steroids to Bonds. Let us wait until this case actually unfolds. I give no substance to Tim Montgomery statement about a secret Grand jury testimony of what Conte said or didn't say. Tim Montgomery is a confessed Steroid user from what He himself says. Perhaps misery loves company. The one thing I know for sure is that I hope that We all find out the truth ! I know that there are those out there that will always believe Bonds did use Steroids and there are those that will never believe He ever used Steroids. I will await more factual proof

Is this for real? Yeah.. stick Bonds, Griffey, Pujols in there with pitchers who throw 120+ pitch complete games every 3 days, and they'd be hitting 75 HR's easy even with old-timey bats, balls and ballparks.

Ruth is and was a legend because of his time. No one can take that away from him. But suggesting that he'd be a HR leader in 2004 is like suggesting that FDR could have won the presidency in a wheelchair in the TV era because he was such a good president at the time.

I don't like Bonds at all and if he's guilty I hope his punishment is No Hall of Fame, which to me is alot worse then what Rose did.And if he is lying I hope they get him on Perjury charges. But, I've been doing some thinking about this and I agree with kermit about Montgomerys Statements mean NOTHING. I was involved in a Trial a few years ago and alot was said about me heresay that wasn't true.So Iknow how the system works about assuming anything. If we went by heresay on all cases there would be alot more people in prison then there is now that don't even belong there. I'm not saying that Montgomerys statements aren't true either, but we don't know and we also don't know what his agenda is.But on the other hand Bonds denying it means nothing to me either.Because actually how many people out there take responsibility of anything these days ?

It seems we have part of the OJ jury posting here. Some of the grand jury testimony has been leaked. Turn the On switch for your brain guys. Conti is cooperating with the Feds. Montgomery testified what Conti had confided to him that Bonds used steroids regularly. Bonds personal trainer gave steroids to most of his clients(denies giving it to BB). The telling sign for me is how BB responded to Montgomery. "I've never met him, I don't know him, I don't know who he is". Why did'nt BB address what Conti had said since he is the one saying he gave steroids to Bonds regularly. If you were a basball superstar and a Dr. was saying he regularly gave you steroids would'nt you address it? Would you tell your attorneys to sue? You bet you would. That is if you were innocent.

Chuck, there is a big difference between OJ's jury and Bonds situation. Jury in OJ'S trial had all of the facts and basically let him walk. There is no facts for a jury here as far as I can see.Lets see what Conti says instead of what Montgomery says What Conti said.If your going to convict on that please stay off any Jury that I might be involved with.I don't like Bonds either for alot of reasons but until I see where Conti Himself Implicates Bonds he isn't guilty of anything. I'm not siding with Bonds either at this point because like I said earlier denying it means nothing to me either

Chuck,
I have always respected your posts here but your statement " turn the on switch to your brains guys " is absurb ! Also, comparing the case against Barry Bonds using Steroids to O.J.case where there was dna evidence everywhere tells me I would not want you on a jury. If I told a Grand Jury that a neighbor told me that He saw Chuck Sims kill a spotted Owl, Does that mean that it is now a fact that Chuck Sims killed a Spotted Owl ? I'm sorry my friend but that testimony is heresay and I would want to hear the eye witness tell me that. Let's wait until We actually see the facts and hopefully the truth will come out.
