I was away from the tube and didn't get a chance to see Jagger's performance. It's too bad the entire Rolling Uglies band didn't perform. They could have shown those young whippersnappers a thing or two. By the way, I don't know how they pulled Arcade Fire out of their asses for album of the year. The alternative rock stuff from Muse and Arcade Fire didn't do anything for me. I didn't really like much of this same kind of post punk music when it was around 30 years ago. And it was done better back then. I know today's generation just thinks we're a bunch of old sods who don't know what we're talking about. But rock music has been around for a little over 40 years now. And I've lived through all of it. So I know what sounds good comparatively speaking, and what sounds like a bunch of flash in the pan stuff. And last night was about 75% flash in the pan mixed with 25% gems. The Grammys used to have much more substance to it.
I'm always more pissed before the Grammy's even start when I don't see good songs even put up for nomination. Where was Mumuford & Sons "Little Lion Man"? They thought enough to make them a best new artist nominee, but their breakout hit wasn't anywhere on the ballot. What's with that? Aside from their lead singer looking like Tim Tebow, I thought they were one of the highlights of the night.
