Need help on this. Ran big office pool people filled out brackets by hand.
i graded after each round. The leader after the elite eight picked Duke zags ks
and ky for his final 4. Here is where it gets confusing. He then had nc winning it all. I run the pool
so I feel like there is no way I can give points for nc after he had them losing to ky. You can't get points for
a team you picked to lose earlier. I tell everyone to always check their brackets before they turn them in but something always happens. This time it affected who wins. How would you grade this?

Obviously he F'd up and takes the L. If you can't fill out a bracket correctly you don't win.

That type of mistake should mean his bracket is voided.

Ideally you would do it online so this wouldn't happen, but I guess y'all didn't realize it is the 21st century yet? :)

When was this noticed? If it was noticed prior to UNC/UK game I can see giving him a chance to correct it.

If not it's a loss.

Didn't notice until I graded the elite eight games. Looks like you guys agree with me it is a loser. Makes me feel better

I'm old school. I know everyone uses espn but I hate the point system they have. Seems like people at the office kind of like doing it the old fashion way.

To be clear I don't think his bracket should be voided all together, I just think he should get a zero for all the games where he picked UNC after he had them losing.

I assume he would lose after that anyway though...

Correct. It was graded up to his last official winner. Instead of winning first he got nothing for 4th place

Go with whatever rules were posted. If all it said was the points per correct pick per round, he gets credit for picking the winner in the championship game, because that's exactly what he did

Really no rules other than correctly fill out bracket which in my mind was not done. So ironic as this guy turned his in at noon on Thursday as last person to enter.
