New York Governor Andrew Cuomo believes that pro-life activists along with anti-gay activists, and supporters of the Second Amendment, are not welcome in his state.
During a radio interview on Friday, Cuomo pointed out that Republicans were in the midst of a schism, where conservatives worked against moderate Republicans.
"Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves," he said. "Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are."
State Republicans blasted his comments, the New York Post reported, even as the governor walked them back on Sunday in an open letter to the newspaper.

vile stupid hating people, who use compassion as a guise

suggesting an unborn baby, especially one that can survive outside the womb is protected by their constitutional rights is just unacceptable to pro-abortionists

I wonder if Cuomo condones infanticide like our president

And now, after the usual lies and distortions by the hateful, wingnut loons that occupy this place, here is the ACTUAL Transcript of what Cuomo was saying, that those Republicans on the extreme Right don't win office in NY. He was not hating on them, like these loons are trying to portray. He was stating electoral Fact in NYS.

http://www.governor.ny.gov/01192014statement

Yeah, I think that that is actually, I don’t think that that is right Susan. I think it is a very important point, but I don’t think it is that I’m less of a democrat, I think what you are seeing is, you have a schism within the Republican Party. You have the Republican Party searching for identity; they are searching to define their soul. That is what is going on. It is the Republican Party that is it a moderate party or is it a conservative party? That is what they are trying to figure out and it is very interesting because it is a mirror of what is going on in Washington, right? The gridlock is Washington is less about democrats and republicans. It is more about extreme republicans versus moderate republicans. And a moderate republican in Washington can’t figure out how to deal with the extreme republicans. And the moderate republicans are affair of the extreme conservative republicans in Washington in my opinion.

You’ve seen that play out in New York, their SAFE act, the Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act. It was voted for by moderate republicans who run the Senate. Their problem is not me and democrats, their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives, who are right to life, pro assault weapon, anti-gay, is that who they are? Because if that is who they are, and if they are the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York. Because that is not who New Yorkers are.

Moderate republicans like in the Senate right now and control the senate, Moderate republicans have a place in this state. George Pataki was governor of this state as a moderate republican. But not as what you are hearing from them on the far right not this clash that you are getting from the quote unquote power brokers of the party now. We are right to life, we are pro assault weapon or anti-gay…Well that was planned anyway, I think he did that in reaction to the meets we were having. You know moderate republicans, I work with, moderate republicans passed my agenda, for the past three years. They want to criticize my record? My record was passed by the moderate republicans, so they are criticizing themselves and this really isn’t about me Susan. This is who are they? And who is going to win between the conservative republicans, the extremely conservative republicans and the moderately conservative republicans. And literally look at the issues that they pick, are we right to life or are we pro-choice? Well if you are right to life, that is your opinion and that’s your religious belief, that is fine but that is not the opinion of this state, which
70% are pro-choice in this state. “Well we are anti-gun control”, that is fine.

70% of this state wants intelligent gun control. “We don’t agree with gay marriage, we are anti-gay”, that is fine but 70% of this state about, is now pro-gay marriage so figure out who you are and figure out if you are of a extreme conservative philosophy and if you can survive in this state. And the answer is no.

[h=1]Hannity Leaving NY, After NY Gov. Cuomo’s Controversial Remarks[/h] Jan. 21, 2014 7:38am Billy Hallowell

Popular television and radio host Sean Hannity delivered a hard hitting response to Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s claim that if “extreme conservatives” are “right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay,” then “they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”
Pledging to eventually vacate the state, Hannity delivered a pointed message on his radio show Monday, saying, “Gov. Cuomo, I’m going to leave and I’m taking all of my money with me — every single solitary penny.”

Hannity went on to remind the governor that there are numerous employees who work for his radio and television programs and that these individuals will be out of a job if he decides to move out of the state.
“I guess maybe some of them will be out of work, governor. I’m sure you’ll take care of them,” Hannity quipped.
Earlier, the host explained that he was born and raised in New York, but that he can’t wait “to get out of here.”
“I don’t want to pay their 10-percent state tax anymore. I live in the second-highest property taxed county in the entire country in Nassau County,” Hannity explained. “I can’t wait to sell my house to somebody that wants it. I can’t wait to pay no state income tax down in Florida or Texas. I haven’t decided yet, but I’m leaning Florida because I like the water and I like to fish.”
As for Cuomo’s initial claim — one that has also drawn the ire of Glenn Beck, among many others — Hannity noted that the governor’s definition of “extreme conservatives” would fit the ideological perspective of the vast majority of clergy in the Catholic faith, among others theological constructs.

[h=2]More Black Babies Aborted Than Born Alive in New York[/h] by Ryan Bomberger | New York, NY | LifeNews.com | 1/20/14 6:32 PM

New York’s Governor, Andrew Cuomo, just announced that “right-to-life” advocates have “no place in the state of New York.” The Radiance Foundation and its civil rights allies defy Governor Cuomo’s intolerance and have launched the “DREAM IS DEAD” ad campaign (www.toomanyaborted.com/ny) in New York on Martin Luther King Day.
The bold ad campaign declares: “The Dream Is Dead For 56 Million: TooManyAborted.com” reminding the public of Dr. Martin Luther King’s fight to ensure justice for all. Bus transit ads will be seen throughout the state’s capital, Albany, as well as Troy and Schenectady.
In 1963 when Martin Luther King Jr. shared his Dream with the nation, he never envisioned an America where ‘reproductive justice’ would end more than 56 million innocent human lives. His dream never pictured a nation where black boys and black girls would never be able to join hands with white boys and white girls, as sisters and brothers, because ‘freedom of choice’ determined some humans are simply not equal.
New York has the second highest abortion rate in America and the second highest total number of abortions, exceeding 100,000 annually. There is obviously no lack of access. Yet, liberal legislators in the state want to decriminalize all abortions allowing the violent procedure through the entire 9 months of pregnancy.
Planned Parenthood and a coalition of other pro-abortion groups have joined Governor Cuomo’s quest to enact the “Reproductive Health Act”, part of his “Women’s Equality Act”. This dangerous pro-Gosnell bill will only endanger even more women and their unborn children.
Planned Parenthood continually touts that they gave Martin Luther King their first Margaret Sanger Award in 1966. What they fail to tell the public is that abortion wasn’t legal in ’66. Dr. King wrongly believed birth control would reduce poverty. He also wrongly believed Planned Parenthood was interested in elevating poorer blacks. Their abortion numbers tell a completely different story.
According to the NY State Department of Health, for every 1,000 black babies born alive, 1,223 are aborted. No other racial/ethnic demographic aborts more of their children than are born alive. Yet groups like the NAACP have endorsed this radical bill that will clearly disproportionately impact the black community.
The TooManyAborted.com New York campaign will continue to educate the public about this civil rights issue throughout Black History Month.

[h=1]Who are the real extremists?[/h] By Ed Mechmann

The governor of the state of New York has an unfortunate tendency to engage in absolutist, take-no-prisoners *political rhetoric.
Just a few years ago, he declared that anyone who opposed redefining marriage was “anti-New York and anti-American.” So it really should be no surprise when his rhetoric gets out of hand, and shows a lack of respect for those who take opposing *positions in good faith.
Nevertheless, the remarks he made the other day are particularly disturbing. Commenting on some internal disputes among his Republican rivals, the governor of all New Yorkers (even those who disagree with him) said this:
“Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.” *(Emphasis added.)
I’m not a Republican, so it’s not for me to defend that party, or to get into the middle of an election-year political scrum. But the governor’s overheated language goes way beyond his political opponents.
Apparently, our governor thinks that there’s no place in our home state for anyone who believes that the laws should respect the right to life of all people, including the unborn, and who believe in the authentic definition of marriage.
But let’s ask ourselves — Who are the real extremists here?
It’s the public officials and the advocates who aren’t satisfied with New York being the abortion capital of America, a place with over 110,000 abortions each year.
It’s the people who oppose any reasonable regulations on abortion, including involving parents in decisions made by minors, fully informed consent requirements and so on.
It’s those who want non-doctors to be able to perform abortions.
It’s the pro-abortion advocates who oppose health and safety regulations of clinics and who fight against any effort to inspect clinics.
It’s those people who want to redefine marriage and the family beyond recognition.
And it’s those who refuse to recognize faith-based objections, and slander those who stand on their faith for life and marriage.
This is not just a Catholic issue. The governor’s rhetoric encompasses the Catholic Church, but also the Orthodox Jewish community, the Evangelical Christian community, many mainline Protestant churches and Muslims, and others of no religious faith at all.
It is deeply troubling when an elected official, who took an oath to uphold the constitutions of our state and nation, casts out of polite society all those who disagree with him.
Remarks like these reflect not only a noxious political climate in our nation, but a deep-seated spiritual malady that St. Augustine called the libido dominandi, the lust to dominate and rule.
In an ironic way, it’s fortunate that the governor made his unpleasant remarks in the midst of the US Bishops’ “9 Days for Life” campaign of prayer, penance and pilgrimage. It’s a reminder that if we’re going to be “extremists” about anything, it should be in our prayer.
In particular, we can focus on the “9 Days for Life” prayer intention for Wednesday, the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision:
For an end to legal abortion in our nation and for the conversion of all hearts, so that the inherent rights of every human being — especially those most at risk of abuse and rejection — will be upheld.
Friday’s prayer intention is also particularly appropriate:
For elected leaders who oppose any restriction on the abortion license: May God allow them to grasp the brutal violence of abortion and the reality of post-abortion suffering experienced by countless women and men.
All of our society is enriched when people of faith bring their values into the public square, and nobody benefits when people are cast out of our political debate.
Let us pray for genuine tolerance, and for a conversion of heart so that our beloved state can show authentic respect for life and marriage.

You are a vile sick piece of shit. And, you are 100% wrong. Obama voted to support both partial-birth abortion, and after-birth abortion - which is not a fetus, you vile scum bag.
