While I agree that Tirico is very talented, I think he is good because of Herbstreet. KH is very knowledgeable and as good as I have seen as a color guy. We all agree that the refs sucked, but they were very consistent. They sucked for both teams. It seems Tirico only wanted to talk about the plays that Michigan got jobbed on. KH was sitting there having to defend Nebraska.
For example, in the 4th quarter, Nebraska punt team got called interfering with the returner. KH pointed out how bad a call it was and how Nebraska made the same play on their next punt and nothfoTirico did not make a big deal of the penalty on the Nebraska for punt team for interference. KH was the one that pointed out that on the next Nebraska punt, the same thing happened and the refs decided that it wasnt a penalty that time.
Also, on the last play of the game, while Tirico was ranting about how all the Nebraska players were on the field, he made no mention that Michigan players were also on the field. KH commented that both teams left the sidelines, only after that did Tirico say that both teams should have been called for it.
It was very obvious that Tirico was rooting for Michigan to win the game, which to me is rather unprofessional. While I like his enthusiasm, I think that he needs to have Herbstreet next to him to make a good team. The real underrated person in that booth is KH.

Tirico lives in Ann Arbor. Enough said.

You would think ESPN execs would mention this to home announcers 'hey call it down the middle'...

IMHO though, Michigan was on the short end of a long night with officials.
