Yes he does...confirmed , but not as big a bettor as you would think.

That is cool as shit. Thanks for sharing that Journey..... Cool.

He makes some coin with his day job. I am sure he is responsible on the other.....

He knows one thing more than any other football fact..... If there were no gambling, horse racing (who really cares) College football, college hoops, nba and most of all....NFL would wither on viewership....

As much as I like to gamble and as much as I love this life we have....I really do hate to admit it:

gambling DRIVES in order: 1) Horse racing...wouldn't be here if folks didn't bet the horses 2) NFL...would have very little interest relative to current if no gambling 3.) NBA...would have very little interest without gambling 4.) College football...interest would be there but not like it has now.... 5.) College BBall...see College FB (better college sport and would be popular without gambling))

Guys...I've just convinced myself...gambling is NOT going anywhere no how and no way.

The people involved in those sports know that: that is why they work so hard to keep corruption out of their sports. I appreciate that effort. They know why they do work so hard.....if there were corruption there would be distaste from ALL viewers (gambling and non) and they know by fighting the corruption in the above sports they keep them as clean as possible and they keep the viewship and revenue going.

That is one helluva fucking post. My thoughts exactly, but thanks for taking the time to articulate it. I love gambling, but I want it to remain kind of a silent topic while the games are going on, and want the players to be removed from this underground world of gambling. I get a kick out of Brent Musberger, but I think if he went any further it would be too much. "Smith with the pass, touchdown, for the cover!" That would just be wrong. And I don't want sports to be like in Europe, where sportsbooks sponsor teams. I think it's perfect to have pointspreads published in every newspaper in America, yet for almost everyone to pretend like they don't exist. I love wagering, but I also love the purity of the games as a fan. And the sports that I care about....college basketball, college football, and to a lesser extent, baseball......I have many friends that love these sports also, and almost none of them gamble at all on them. I know that I've only been betting for 4 years, but have been a die-hard sports fan for my entire life. Status quo is good. Let's keep it. And to all the politicians that are trying to stir up trouble where none exists.....fuck off and go after the real internet criminals. You'll find no shortage of them every night on Dateline NBC.

Where does he bet? How much per game does he bet? And how the hell do you know this? I am curious, and have always wondered. Didn't know that anyone confirmed anything though.

Wrigley Has A Great Point

Exactly what I was thinking, if the avg. American hears Musberger talking about pt. spreads, he thinks "WTF that can`t be so bad if Ol Brent does it"! Don`t kid yourself he`s not stupid and is aware of the recent activity in Congress and the ramifications that will result. Go Brent GO!!!! Now if Al Michaels would say something, it would be great!
