The man MAY stay out of his games due to the jewish holiday and his religion. In a heated pennant race he is showing to his team and the world that there MIGHT be something more important then sports.

he is unsure if he will stay out of the games but he is thinking of which is more important

I wonder which one he will choose

thoughts?

He has done this throughout his career. Only difference is the Dodgers don't suck as bad as they used to.

I disagree, i don't see Christians refusing to play on Easter, Christmas, ETC<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

This is pretty ridiculous considering the guy is being paid MILLIONS to do his job, which is a 6 month out of the year job at that, days off when he is needed isn't part of the deal. Make up for it another day, its basically a day on the calendar.

Religious or not, do your job and worry about the other stuff later.

No One Should Knock Him For Sitting Out Or Knock Any Athlete For Sitting Out On The Holiest Day Of Their Religion.

He is doing a favor to all the fans of the Dodgers(I ain't of of em') by sitting out. He sux!!!! Haven't you noticed that the Dodgers play MUCH MUCH MUCH better when that loser is out of the lineup anyways? The Dodgers should be rolling out the red carpet and THANKING him for sitting out.

Lost my Respect.

Shawn Green has not done this his whole career. Green says he is going to play on Saturday but will not play Friday. Huh? Now he says he is not made up his mind yet. One thing you can say about Shawn Green is that he is weak minded. I don't respect him at all.

Just wondering if he's honorable enough to give back the money he gets paid to play in that game. I'm sure he can't wait to give the thousands of dollars back.

Yeah, why not just let down your team mates and screw 'em in a pennant race. Very selfish and self righteous BS here. Why do some people feel they have to wear their religious beliefs on their sleeves even when it's to the detriment of others around them?

hanover- that is the most ignorant statement i think i have read on this forum. wearing his religion on his sleeve to the detriment of others? do you mean he is hurting others by observing his religion? lol you are either very stupid or anti-semitic. it is not green who is wearing his religion on his sleeve, but people like YOU who make a big deal out of it.

he is cool but my favorite player is gary sheffield from the New York Yankees. gosh golly he is amazing. I lose it when he has his at bat I get speechless and I could go on and on. I really love Mark Mulder from the A's too he is so awesome when he pitches. I like everybody. I'm not a fan of any particular team I just drool over all the players all over I just love everything and what it walks on. rooting hard for the rangers and green. lets hold hands like they did when scott norwood missed that field goal.

Rob that 'wide right' is still a sensative subject with many Bills fans. Did you know that the game is more memorable for the terrific defensive scheme drawn up by then-New York Giants defensive coordinator Bill Belichick to shut down the explosive offense of the favored Buffalo Bills in that contest. Because the game was played just a week after the conference title matchups, Belichick basically conjured up the game plan on the team's flight to Tampa, following a victory at San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game. Belicheck now of course is head man in New England.

OK get paid millions of $ and sit out 1 or 2 of the most important games to the owner who pays you. Oh yeah, Italian sports players you have Columbus day off and all Irish ball players you're off on St. Patty day too! Enjoy your holidays!
