A Mississippi woman believed to work at a Subway restaurant created a social media firestorm Sunday after posting messages online that applauded the deaths of two police officers killed in the line of duty the night before.
The Laurel woman who uses the name Sierra C-Babi Mccurdy wrote 'Two police officers shot tonight in Hattiesburg,' followed by 'GOT EM' and a gun pointed at the words as well as laughing emoji.
Because the woman was wearing what appeared to be a Subway uniform in one of her photos, the Clarion-Ledger reports, thousands of tweets and Facebook posts demanding a response from the Subway company began to almost instantly to appear.

Most messages were along the lines of @gatorguy's.
'Wow. This piece of trash was celebrating the death of 2 policeman in #Hattiesburg. Your employ, @subway. #Classy'

However, some, like @TheNathanCook, urged a nationwide boycott of the sandwich shop chain. He tweeted:
'I will no longer eat at @SUBWAY due to the comments of an employee at a Laurel, MS location. #Subway should be ashamed. #Hattiesburg.'
Twitter user @SteveRobertsESQ had a similar response, writing:

'I'll just exercise my options and start finding my healthy meals elsewhere.'

Infuriating people further was another message Mccrudy wrote on Facebook.
'We can turn this bxtch into Baltimore real quick,' she posted on Facebook. 'Police take away innocent people lives everyday now & get away w/ it, fxck them…[no mercy],' she said.
No doubt the brunt of thousands of nasty messages, Mccrudy has made both her Facebook and Instagram accounts private.

Subway did not immediately return calls for comment.

The deaths of Benjamin Deen, 34, and Liquori Tate, 25- the first such slayings to hit Hattiesburg in three decades - were felt far and wide in this small southern Mississippi city.

Hundreds of police officers from across the country have gathered to bid farewell to one of the two patrolmen shot dead in Mississippi last weekend.
Donning an array of uniforms, the officers saluted Benjamin Deen, 34, as his body was carried into Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg on Thursday.
They then joined Deen's grief-stricken wife, Robin Deen, 12-year-old daughter, Melah, and nine-year-old son, Walker, for an emotional funeral service.
Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree said the nationwide outpouring of support for Mrs Deen, her two children and other relatives 'means so much' to them.
'It shows law enforcement officers are loved by those they serve and protect,' he told The Associated Press as he entered the church with mourners.
The mayor added: 'It is a shame we can't do this before these tragic events happen.'

Shot dead: Deen (pictured left and, right, with his wife) was shot dead alongside Officer Liquori Tate, 25, during a traffic stop on Saturday

.

Deen was shot dead alongside Officer Liquori Tate, 25, on Saturday night after he pulled over a dark-blue Hyundai just north of downtown Hattiesburg.
During the routine traffic stop, Deen - a former Hattiesburg 'Office of the Year' - was shot in face, while his younger colleague was struck in the back.
Five people have since been arrested in relation to the shooting. Marvin Banks, 29, is currently jailed without bond on two capital murder charges.
Meanwhile, Banks's girlfriend, 22-year-old Joanie Calloway, has seen her charges downgraded from capital murder to accessory after the fact.

.

Banks's brother, Curtis Banks, is accused of the same, while the suspects' friend, 28-year-old Cornelius Clark, is charged with obstruction of justice.
The fifth suspect, Abram Franklin, was arrested on Wednesday, just a day before Deen's funeral. He has also been charged with obstruction of justice.
On Thursday, police officers from as far away as New York City flocked to say goodbye to Deen, whose casket was draped with an American flag.
The hour-long service included a slide presentation of family pictures of Deen - from childhood to his marriage to his wife and raising their children.

Mr Strain said that after Deen asked all three suspects to get out of the vehicle, Banks shot Deen in the face and Tate in the lower back.
Both officers were wearing bullet-resistant vests that could not protect them against the gunshots.
In relation to Abram Wade 'Pete' Franklin's arrest on Wednesday, the 29-year-old suspect was reportedly charged after being quizzed by investigators.
Mississippi Bureau of Investigation spokesman Warren Strain said that agents do not believe Franklin was present for the double shooting.
Franklin was jailed on Wednesday night awaiting an initial appearance before a judge to assign bond. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
