Word is Chattanooga's QB is out, have you heard anything?

(This is a terrible way to have to ask a simple question. Could you also email me so we can make this more simple in the future: 8222walk@gmail.com)

Already a decisive underdog in the season opener in Norman, the Mocs took a hit they didn't need Monday when quarterback Jare Gault was injured at practice.

Reports indicated Gault, who had been taking snaps with the first-team offense this preseason, suffered ankle and knee sprains which could keep him out for two weeks, including the Mocs' game at OU. Coach Rodney Allison said Gault will be re-evaluated daily on the chance he could be cleared for the opener. If he isn't, Tony Pastore becomes the likely starting quarterback.

Have you guys found this line online? If so I need to get on it.

Hey Sooner not an expert by any means on the Big 12 but I keep looking over and over at week one and can't get past A&M -20.5 McGee is back and I know they are learning a new scheme. Is it possible Sherman wants to impress his home fans get off on the right foot. 20.5 isnt hard to cover. A&M returns only 10 but Ark St. returns only 11. I do remember what Ark St did in last years opener vs Tex. Whats your take here?? I see the line getting to 22 or maybe 23 before the season.

This line has actually gone backwards as many gamblers are not convinced that Sherman and the Aggies are going to blow Arkie State out here. GoSooners I think is leaning to Arkansas State here in this game so he will probably have more t say on this later whenever he finally posts his plays. Personally, I'll be watching this game close with interest, but I will not be betting it. I'm more interested in A&M's game on the road against New Mexico in week #2. I actually would love to see A&M blow ASU out in this first game to give me a good line in their second game as i think New Mexico could be a good bet.

On this line, here's a funny entry from an ESPN blogger on A&M:

And last, but not least, a link from the Big 12 for all of you Arkansas State, New Mexico and Army fans. Texas A&M starting quarterback Stephen McGee has been running routes with the wide receivers, as have the Aggies two other quarterbacks, notes Randy Riggs of the Austin American-Statesman.

I also heard McGee is going to catch his own passes, block for himself and be the holder when he kicks extra points. And in his spare time he'll find homes for stray kittens and serve soup to Russian orphans. Tim Tebow's got nothing on McGee.

A few weeks ago I was leaning towards Arky State just because of what the Aggies had coming back this season..But after seeing their returning starters, I'm thinking ASU might be hurting as much the A&M. The last couple years the Aggies have been pretty hard on these Sunbelt teams winning by scores of 54-14 and 51-7. So I'm still thinking about this one...Texas A&M, Baylor and Nebraska may not be teams we want to mess with in the first week...New coaches, new systems. It's a tough call betting for or against these teams.

I certainly agree with your points as well as SoonerBSs' thoughts. I think I will leave this one alone as you said. Unless the line stays at 20 and if it does go to 19.5 I gotta jump on it. I will make it a small play at 20.5 for now (not bettig it yet but projecting a bet) and if it goes lower I think I will pound A&M if it goes up I will just leave it alone. Im actually hoping on the WM and NEB game the line will go up a hair. At betjam its 13.5 if it goes to 14 or more I will probably load up on West. Mich. or the over depending on what it is. NEB defense is horrific.

I like that Bud avatar Go Sooners, I might have to pay
to see Mizzu go over that 10 O/U on the season total,
Chase Daniels gets knocked out for awhile and 11-1 looks
risky.......

If he doesnt their 6-0 going to Austin and even a loss their and they look like they'll be in the BIG 12 championship which is an extra game. Of course if they lose to ILLINOIS your golden.

Fellas...I think Mizzou is the real deal this year..I just don't see them losing more than 2 games..And an undefeated regular season is possible..Even if by chance they lose to Illinois in their first game, I don't see Mizzou losing to both Nebraska and Texas on the road...The rest of their games should be a win..Even the Kansas game. Kansas will not be improved enough in my opinion to beat Mizzou. You may want to shop around for a better wins number on Mizzou...I'm still seeing 9.5 wins in Bookmaker. I've already jumped on this one.

Here is some additional bad news for Chattanooga:

Chattanooga (Aug. 30)

The situation in the UTC backfield is a little bleak. The Mocs lost Bryan Fitzgerald, the team's leading rusher a year ago with 798 yards, to season-ending knee surgery last week. Now, the man counted on to carry Fitzgerald's load is hurting as well. According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Erroll Wynn sat out a portion of practice earlier this week with a hyperextended knee. This comes after Wynn missed practice last week with a hip injury.
