google chromecast ??? anybody use it ?

I've recently found myself watching more and more tv online (even while at home) , but my old fogey self just cant adjust to watching on such a small screen. ...I'm also thinking of trying mlb dot tv rather than the mlb extra innings package.

With google chromecast you can supposedly "cast" anything from your computer screen to your tv.

Has anybody tried this ?

...I know you can hook a laptop to a tv , but my electrical outlets are not close enough so i have to use an extension cord which drives my wife crazy so i'm not looking for that answer.

I use it on all my tv's, mostly for netflix and youtube though I just cast from my phone. I have used the laptop lap one time just to see if it worked and streamed some redtube to my tv and it worked just fine. One thing you have to make sure of though is that you have both HDMI and USB ports for it to be compatible with your tv.

Use it ALL the time. They keep making apps for it. I don't have cable so it works great. I can't wait until we can purchase single games and just cast them to our TVs

Chromecast is cheap and makes having them directly connected unnecessary

Chromecast + Plex is pretty rad... I have a 4TB NAS running Plex Server, that I save movies/television series on, then I can use my phone to play any of them on my HDTV, with only the Chromecast attached.
