- Carlton Gary, 67, known as the 'Stocking strangler' was executed in Georgia Thursday after his lawyer was denied clemency just the day before his execution
- Michael Eggers, 50, was put to death by lethal injection Thursday in Alabama
- Gary was executed after 10pm at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, while Eggers was killed at 7pm in Atmore
- Gary was convicted for the 1977 deaths of 89-year-old Florence Scheible, 69-year-old Martha Thurmond and 74-year-old Kathleen Woodruff
- Gary was accused of raping, beating and chocking the women, often with their own stockings
- Eggers was convicted of murdering his female employer, Bennie Francis Murray, 67, during an argument
- Neither of the men opted to give a final statement before they were killed
