*****My favorite: British Virgin Islands--No crime, beautiful beaches, friendly people. Rent a villa or house w/a maid on Virgin Gorda. Or check out Little Dix Bay Resort. Flights from San Juan, PR to Torotola, BVI. You can then take a watertaxi to Virgin Gorda or any of the other islands (Jost Van Dyke, Peter Island, etc.).
Hawaii--Spend a few days on Maui at the Grand Wailea (sp?) or Four Seasons. Beautiful, top of the line hotels. Then take a quick flight to Kaui and enjoy the slow pace, relaxing environment of a island that has not been overrun by tourists.
Continental U.S.-- LaJolla, CA/San Diego or Scottsdale, AZ plenty of choices of nice hotels/resorts, also Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel (Orange Co., CA). Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne (just south of Miami), Ritz Carlton Halfmoon Bay (as someone posted above).
St. Maarten--Avoid
US Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix)--Avoid
Belize--Boring
San Juan, PR--If you are looking for something w/in a budget you can take a look at some good deals.
St. Kitts/Nevis--Four Seasons on Nevis, great spot for a honeymoon. Can do things at your own speed or choose not to do anything at all.
Antigua--Avoid
Las Vegas--One of my favorite spots but not for your honeymoon.
One bit of advice, have a small wedding and spend more on the honeymoon (or put the $$$ in savings). Too much is made about the wedding and the day flies by and is a blur to the bride/groom.
If I think of more destinations, I will post.
