We can now transfer funds back and forth in US dollars if we have a US dollar account at TD-Waterhouse.

About time, the exchange is a killer.

Thanks Neteller.

you: Hi. I am Canadian, certified. I have a US account. Can I connect to that one?
you: It is at a Canadian bank (CIBC).
Taguen: no, sorry, the only US funds Canadian bank account you can use is at TD Waterhouse. they have an account that uses a 9 digit routing number which is required to set up a US funds account with NETeller
you: Not so bad. If I open an account there I should be able to?
Taguen: yes
you: Cool. I'll open one and get back to you. Save me transfer fees Canadian to American blah blah.
Taguen: ok. sounds good

Sweet.

Any idea if you can do this through TD online banking ?

I knew you could do it through a TD subsidiary bank in New York, but it was a real pain in the ass.

I am just going to walk into a TD tomorrow, open an account, get my nine digit code thingy and send it to Neteller.

I'll let you know how I do Halifax.

If I can't use the dumb thing I am going to be mighty pissed at Taguen..

Peep,

Let me knows how it goes with your first few transactions. I may open with neteller as well.

I have an inactive waterhouse account from years ago. Tried to make 1 trade with them and failed. Their commissions resemble 30 cent books. They will spam ya' too.

But they do pay I'm told.

Peep,

That's great news! I have a TDW account (zero in the trading account of course). I will give it a try and report back. I have to check to see how the neteller acct and the TD(W) accts are linked. Maybe we can do it as a bill payment thru the bank side...that would be hilarious! If ever I need a reload, it would be a bill payment option!

Journeyman, a lot of other Canadians share your confusion. Saskatchewan (a western team) played Toronto last year in a semi-final game. Usually, western teams play off amongst western teams and eastern with eastern. Last year was an exception as Ottawa and Hamilton were too crappy to make the playoffs. Hence the Riders vs Argos. It's the Confusing Football League.

Peep, thanks for this. Do you know if a US funds account with the regular TD bank is the same thing as the TD Waterhouse account? I just recently got a US TD account so it would be quite sweet if this were to work out. I guess I can call Neteller to find out.

Gotta love those Canadians without them transfering money with this new legislation might have been hard. Give thanks and praise to our Northern friends...

I just talked with Neteller and they told me that I could only link a CND funds account to my Neteller account.

oilman.

What a phucked up bunch. They told me specifically last night I could link an American account with my Neteller, as long as it was a TD one.

Duh.

I'll call them again too.
