Glad the NFL VP of officiating cleared this up. Golden Tate's play today was a clear TD, because he crossed the plane and had possession. But if you catch it on the 5, take 4 steps, fall down, roll over with possession, and then it leaks out, it's incomplete.

This league is a disaster.

Glad the coaches are smart too. Pagano kicks extra points to go up 13 with 4 minutes left and draws up a beautiful fake punt tonight. And Caldwell kicks a fg on 4th and 4 down 7 with 4 minutes left. So much to learn by watching football.

absolutely positively right without a shadow of a doubt

there is no way on earth Tate made more of a football move than Dez, not by any reasonable standard, and the NFL official flat out lied when he said Tate didn't go to the ground.

Caught the ball, contact, went to the ground, they've been telling us they have to maintain possession after hitting the ground in those circumstances, they lied. Not to mention that was the shortest football move I've seen since they implemented all this bullshit

More proof, they just make shit up as they go. The more subjectivity you give officials, the more idiocy you're going to see.

PS: I couldn't care less about the game for any reason.

Oh, and there wasn't enough evidence on the replay to give the ball to the Colts on the onside kick. Colts had it on the video and nobody else touching it, and the same guy comes out of the pile with it. Patriots ball, first down! Just like the State Farm commercial.

League is a disaster, a complete clusterfuck.

Order of worst officiating by sport:

MLB (Umpires & their personal, made up strike zones)
NFL (Maybe the most inconsistent)
NBA (Consistent of horrible calls but benefit of the doubt since game is always fast-paced)
NHL

To be fair, pro sports are difficult to ref. You have fast paced action with big strong agile guys with contact.
Strike zones should be called with chips like pro tennis line calls. Beep, its a strike.
Pro basketball is impossible with 6-8 guys flying around, bumping into each other and pushing and shoving. Impossible. They could call traveling however.
The NFL is maddening. So what should the rule on catches be? If you have it and cross the goal line, it is a TD? No matter if you land and lose it when you hit the turf? Like a runner who sticks it across the goal line but then has it slapped away?
Possesion calls in pileups are difficult too. You lose sight of the ball and who knows what is going on down there by the time those 55-year-old refs finally clear away the rubble to find the ball? There are way too many penalties. Hand checking receivers should be allowed. Hate it when the yellow flag logo comes on after every other play.

Hell, I had Det -3 for the game, and that wasn't a catch. As far as Bryant, it's funny because it's Dallas.

Dallas Cowboys' Dez Bryant wants to help National Football League change catch rule Author: Cesar Mills ; Last update: 10 December , 2015 22:02:38 Adjust Comment Print Goodell said he's spoken to former GMs, current GMs, former players and former officials about coming together to form a proposal to fix the rule. How it's officiated, how it's played, how it's coached, how the fans react. "We want to find a better solution if it's out there". "That's cool!" Bryant told USA Today on Tuesday. One person that wants to help the committee clarify those very things: Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. "They say you've got to take a couple steps or whatever, I kind of agree with that, but at the same time, there's sometimes when it's a gray line and it's nearly common sense, a lot of those ones that they might miss". Dallas kept its playoff hopes alive with Monday's 19-16 win at Washington. "Tell them they need to call me, so I can have my input". The Dallas Cowboys (4-8) will try to move up the standings and go for a playoff berth in the muddled NFC East as the team visits NFC North leaders Green Bay Packers (8-4) at the Lambeau Field on Sunday, December 13 for a Week 14 match in the 2015 National Football League season. "But I'll tell you this: I dwelled on that (expletive) for about a good two months". Sitton, who has regularly been on the injury report knee and back issues, may have been getting a rest or possibly just took part in the pre-practice before reporters were in attendance. Fantasy Impact: Dez Bryant couldn't get it going on Monday night against the Redskins; he was visibly frustrated and was held without a catch and targeted only twice in the first half. Something certainly needs to be done so this rule is enforced with more clarity and consistency, so a committee seems like a pretty good idea. Players like Johnson and Bryant provide an excellent perspective, and it will be hard for any new rule to have credibility if current players aren't involved. Dez Bryant to the rescue!
