Me and 3 friends are going to Vegas in early september. Wondering when we should reserve our rooms and also what are the best places to stay? Will we get comped? Thanks

You want to play blackjack 4 hours a day for an average bet of $200 or more.....

Then you will get comped.

I was kidding. You can get some comps for less play than that.

But... the decent places won't even rate your play on table games for less than $25 per hand.

I'll probably just play poker. Either tourneys or 3/6, 5/10

If you understand poker and have a chance to win... maybe this will help.

I have heard you should go to the nicest and biggest poker rooms on the strip. The reason being the local guys who play poker almost every day frequent the little places more.

The big strip hotels have more games with "tourists" who don't know shi!t. I think this is true. Maybe some of the Vegas guys will chime in and verify.

You won't get comped much for poker but I know at some places if you play poker for 4+ hours a day or so they will give you a discounted room and maybe even a free dinner. I know the Mandalay properties - Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, etc. all do this. Give them a call and see what they can offer you. Other places might have even better deals.
