I think this was a topic in here before. Not sure.
It is important so I will mention it again.
Are you doing a clean install where you are wiping your hard drive and installing Windows 7 or just an upgrade.
Do you have the option to wipe the hard drive? It is WAY better.
Plus I just read that if I did a Clean Install, if I ever wanted to go back to Vista, I couldn't.
But it looks like Toshiba has 2 Windows 7 install helper programs. which will help me with the Driver & System back ups...or downloads
Your computer will be significantly slower if you do an upgrade. Read this.l

99 out of 100 people pefer Windows 7 over Vista.
Just informing you.
And you can go back to Vista. Did they give you recovery CDs with your computer? They should have.
I'm sure they did, and I saw it a few weeks ago.......But of coure I can't find it NOW.
Making a Recovery Disc now
Doesn't say anything about that.
Just the Disc and a small 2 page set up guide
I am not sure if these instructions can be used on your Windows 7 upgrade CD. Worth reading though.

I guess I Still need to download the Drivers, even though they say this...
Note: Toshiba Software Installer for Windows 7 will install any updates for Toshiba drivers and utilities required for hardware features and functionality following the installation of Windows 7. If updates are needed for bundled or added 3rd party application software that is not required for hardware functionality, contact the application software vendors.
That means Windows 7 has its own Microsoft drivers for your Toshiba laptop...if it doesn't work properly...then you need to download them from Toshiba site...if it works normally and you can see picture, hear sound etc...then you're good to go...
Ok, so I Backed up my Files & System......I Copied on Disc my 284 Drivers
All I need to do is insert the Windows 7 Disc, and follow the BS
When that's Finished.....ifhave Picture, sound and etc....
There will be No need for me to Down the stuff I Copied ???
I am not sure what you mean by "Copied on Disc my 284 Drivers"...
But you can proceed with the upgrade...and if anytime later...you can go to Toshiba site to get the necessary drivers if the drivers come from Microsoft do not work properly...
Didn't you tell me to Copy my Drivers ??
I went to drivers and it asked if I wanted to Burn them to Disc.
Since I didn'thave a Flash or whatever.
I know you said Download them, but to what ?
Or did you mean Download the Drivers that I would Need later on ?
