Those RPI make for good comedy. Iowa would blow ODU out of any gymnasium. Based on the RPI, you'd figure a neutral court line of maybe -2. lol yeah right. More like -12.

TWICE.

Once earlier in the year, can't remember against whom.
And against DePaul.

The DePaul game was a good gauge of how good tey really are. I saw a team which plays hard and smart, and plays the game the way it should be played. But also a team that is less talented than at least 100 teams in the country.

It's easy to overrate a team that you watch game after game beat 90% of their competition. But you have to understand who they are playing and who they are not playing.

By way of comparison, I would compare ODU to a Northwestern. If they switched schedules they would have similar records. But as it is nobody would say NWU is a 36th RPI type team or even one of the best 64 in the country.

ODU's SOS is 224/320 and in that conference that's only going to get worse.

Not trying to be a hater, just a reality check.

D2Bets,

Since you stated you watched the ODU/DEPAUL game, then you should have no trouble telling me what happened to one of ODU'S BEST players in that game...

Let me refresh your memory

A-Had to leave because of injury
B-Sat out much of game due to foul trouble
C-Made a halfcourt shot
D-Got into fisticuffs with a DePaul player

I'll take 'A' and I'll also note that DePaul's 2nd best player (Mejia) was making his return from being out and only came off the bench to play 18 minutes.

Shrink,

don't take it personally. D2bets makes many valid points and I think your Big Blue allegiance is blinding you.
Yes, ODU is very good.
Yes, they should win their conference.
Yes, ODU would be at or near the bottom of a major conference.
Comparison would be a Northwestern in the big-10 or a Clemson or Florida St. in the ACC.

Enjoy the moment for the Monarchs and cross your fingers come CAA tournament time, because ODU will NOT get in at-large.

Fish was the one who had said they could be a final 4 team. I hope it was tongue in cheek, given his reputation for hyperbole.

ODU could very well be the best team in the Commonwealth though. Depending on where the game was played they'd be pretty much a pick against both the Cavaliers and the Hokies

Uhhh, OK, I did in fact watch the whole game as I had a large wager on DePaul. I didn't remember any injury, but figured that's what you were getting at. Of course none of the above didn't appear to an option. Anyway. My DePaul note was true though.

I think you take ODU comments too personally.
