Hey question I have about GF2

When the one Don that is drunk finally gets to meet Michael after being upset about having to wait in the lobby. He makes a big stink about Mike's dealing with Himen Roth. After the conversation, he storms out stating "I want everyone to know, I won't cause no trouble!"

What is the fate of that don? That Michael says "The old man had too much wine."

What happens to him?!

How does the Don become Vito Corleone, since he was born with a different last name, Andolini

At the beginning of GFII when young Vito Andolini from Corleone (he was wearng a paper signed pinned to his jacket with that information) stepped up to an overworked cutoms official on the Ellis Island processing center for incoming immigrants he looked the at the pinned paper and and hollered "Here he is Vito Corlone" totally missing the name Andolini in his haste to keep the long line of immigrants moving. Young Vito speaking only Italian and not really knowing what was going on just kept his mouth shut.

Once his paperwork had him listed as Vito Corleone it stuck and the name of Andolini was forgotten.

From the actual screenplay:

INT. ELLIS PROCESSING HALL - DAY

The hundreds of immigrant families sit on rows of benches in
the great hall. Various painted lines lead to the steps and
processing rooms above.

There is the babble of many interviews going on
simultaneously, uncertainly, in different languages.

Vito is bundled in an old coat, with a large tag pinned on
it: "Vitone Andolini -- Corleone, Sicilia."

He stands, moves up in the line, when several other immigrant
boys, older than he, rush up an push him back in the line.
Weak from the trip, he falls to the floor. The boys laugh,
derisive in a language he cannot understand. He struggles
to his feet, lifting his makeshift bags; staring at them in
an icy hatred.

INT. PROCESSING ROOM - DAY

Three or four interviews are crowded into the small room;
they are conducted in English. From the expression on
Vito's face, and from the fragmented of the English, we
realize that he doesn't understand a word of it.

OFFICIAL
(English)
What is your name?

The man waits, impatiently.

OFFICIAL
Your name?

Vito doesn't answer. The Official pulls the tag pinned onto
his coat and copies to down on his form, using a typewriter.

OFFICIAL
(speaking as he types)
Vito...Corleone. Step up, over
there.

He hands the form to another official.

CLOSE VIEW on the form. The name has been entered as Vito
Corleone.

-

The actual scene ended up being cut slightly different with the customs man having the single line 'Here he is Vito Corleone" in the final cut.

However the reason for the name change is clear either way.

There were rumours that the Johnny Fontaine character was based on Frank Sinatra, what is the clue in godfather 1 that tells us thats impossible.:dancefool

Pancho - the actual dialougue goes like this:

Young Vito is looked at by an official who checks his eyes with what look like chop sticks, draws a circle with chalk and checks it in the middle of his jacket, on the other side of the jacket is the ID paper. The eye guy then sends Vito to sit in another row of seats with other immigrants. Finally he he is up to the front of the line where an English speaking old grumpy official says "what is you name"? "Come on son, what is your name"? Vito says nothing, standing beside Vito is a translator is who says "cuo Nomi", (then reading from the pinned paper) Vito Andolini from Corleone" and says no more. The English speaking official behind the counter says "Corleone, Vito Corlone, Ok over there, next".

Pancho sorry for the mispelling. Italian is seriously rusty.

A lot depends upon whether or not you are talking about the movie or the book when discussing The Godfather. In the movie the character of Johnny Fontaine had a minor roll while in the book he was a key character.

Actual similarlarities from the real life Frank Sinatra and the fictional (from the book) Johnny Fontaine:

Fontaine started career off as a singer in a band.
Sinatra started career off in a big band also.

Fontaine got out of his contract with a band and became a solo artist (with a little help from his Godfather).
Sinatra became solo artist, mysteriously getting released from his big band deal.

Fontaine's voice became weak
Sinatra's vocal chords hemorrhaged during his mid career.

Fontaine's career plummeted, thus his plea to Don Corloene for help. He got the part in that "war movie" and was almost immediately back on top in Hollywood.

Sinatra's career plummeted also before winning Best Supporting Oscar as Maggio in the war movie From Here to Eternity. The Oscar revived his career and made him a power in Hollywood for the rest of his professional life.

Fontaine was married to slutty Hollywood Movie Star Margot Ashton.

Sinatra was married to slutty Hollywood Movie Star Ava Gardner.

So basically IMO it was Mario Puzo teasing his readers in the book by creating the similarities between the fictional Fontaine and the real life Sinatra.

As far as clues go in the movie, whatever you have in mind has been debated for years and is definitely subjective.

You are referring to GFII and the never in the book Frankie "Five Angels" Pentangli. Frankie while in custody of the FBI in an old army barracks cut his wrists in a hot tub of bath water with a razor blade passed along to him using clandestine means by Tom Hagen during a visit Hagen arranged with Pentangli at the army barracks.

Hagen convinced Pentangli that if he commited suicide his family would be taken care of in the style of the old Roman Empire by the Corleones. They both smoked cigars during the meeting outside of the barracks on the grounds of the fenced in buildings, sort of a sending off party for Frankie..
