Glenn Beck: Obama Better For Country Than McCain Would Have Been (VIDEO)

Glenn Beck thinks President Obama is better for the country than John McCain would have been, he said in an interview with Katie Couric to air at CBSNews.com Tuesday evening.

"I think John McCain would have been worse for the country than Barack Obama," Beck told Couric in the debut episode of her new web show, @katiecouric.

Beck's comment came in response to Couric's question about Hillary Clinton, who Beck said he may have even voted for had she been the Democratic nominee against John McCain.

"I can't believe I'm saying this," Beck said, "I think I would have much preferred [Hillary Clinton] as president and may have voted for her against John McCain."

He described McCain as "this weird progressive like Theodore Roosevelt was."

The full interview airs at CBSNews.com Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.

I don't think he meant that has a compliment, but I could be mistaken

I don't think you're mistaken.

He's simply stating what most of us who voted for Obama were feeling last November when we headed to the polls. That is - Obama is absolutely not without flaws. But he is (was) far preferable to the primary alternative presented.

He didnt

Obama represents the hard left unmasked.

McCain would have continued to cloud the issue of what a republican should actually stand for

well, I don't think it's possible to have done worse, so I must disagree with Glen.

However, given the fact that Obama has resurrected conservatism, maybe Glen's onto something.

Even though I'm not a McCain fan, I don't think he'd be trashing
this country nearly as bad as Obama.

Obama and Carter, the two worst presidents in my lifetime, without
a doubt.

I'd vote McCain/Palin a million times before I'd vote for
the corrupt chumps trying to run this country into the ground.

By far the lesser of two evils.

What i would have said was looking at the 4 names who ran for Pres last election, counting palin who didnt actually run for Pres....makes me want to PUKE. ANY of the 4 would/is/ a disaster....
2 should be in jail for their crimes (Climton, Obama), 1 should be disgraced for his views (McCain) and 1 is just not qualified ( Palin)

Oh yeah, the big bad awful Theodore Roosevelt that ruined the country. Glenn Beck is certifiable. That's when you get when you take an unrecovered addict and put him on the air every day. Gives Rush a run for his nutty money.

PPP i agree with your observation but must add the 2nd "Strike" against Obama for "Not Qualified". May also consider a 3rd strike for Obama due to the fact that he is not a natural born citizen of the US.

Really. Theodore Roosevelt was a "weird progressive"??? First, Tom Coburn, and now, Glenn Beck. So nice going, Barman, you've ruined two of my icons in one day.

Probably shouldn't have gotten out of bed this morning.

Not that I'm a fan of either of them but just curious... what crimes should Clinton and Obama be in jail for???

Hillary was forced out of the Pres election because they knew her fund raising crimes would be brought up somewhere along the line....She should be in a federal prison right this minute on that alone..although i could quote her lists of crimes for days...

Obama is a Marxist Democrat from Chicago...need i say more????

Not saying you're wrong, but...

Hillary stayed in the presidential race through the last primary, and actually would have won the nomination if the Democrats didn't have their idiotic proportional voting rules.

While being a Marxist Chicago politician makes it highly likely that you've done something illegal, you need more proof than that to convict someone.

And Beck - like me - would have voted for Hillary had she been the Dem nominee in 2008

Coming from the forum donkey who reads and writes at a
2nd grade level ('embarrassing'), this statement is quite
humorous.

No she was done in June....All that was a show to allow her to continue fund raising. She should give Rush Limbaugh half of every dime she collected cus without him she would have had to quit, you couldnt find a democrat who would support her after July..
