His family released a statement that day: 'It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and legendary singer and guitarist, Glen Travis Campbell, at the age of 81, following his long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.'

The singer came from the small town of Billstown, Arkansas, which to this day has a population of just over 2000 souls.
Campbell was the seventh son of a sharecropping family, which boasted 12 children in total.
He began playing guitar as a boy and was inspired by Django Reinhart before dropping out of school when he was just 14 years of age.
He moved to Wyoming and played at various local bars before moving to Los Angeles and landing a gig with famous session musician group The Wrecking Crew.

Man, alcoholism is a terrible disease.

Wasn't it Alzheimers ?

That is a terrible disease. My mom is at the stage that she doesn't know that I am her son. She knows that I am "friend" and she thanks me profusely for coming to visit but will forget that I was there a minute after I walk out the door. I could go on and on. It's a terrible way to finish life.

RIP Glen

I am currently developing and working with a company who can detect Alzheimer's as early as 10 years prior to beginning onset. It is mind boggling this technology that is available to us.

It also identifies, categorizes and defines other ailments such as PTSD, chronic pain, sleep disorders, depression, anxiety, concussion damage, brain trauma, Parkinson's, seizures, memory loss and so on.

The results I have seen with patients who may have been misdiagnosed prior to this testing are life changing.

I am fortunate as we do not have a whole lot of Alzheimer's in our family lineage, this may be able to make a difference in many people's lives with cognitive disorders.

Thanks, Gas. Will be reading through their news pieces as I have time.

Are there bigger, public, companies doing this?
