thats me sir..

I've been following this horses career and I feel this horse is coming towards a peak performance.. Don't know everyone of his rivals in this race but I doubt any of them have what it takes to defeat her..

She ran a great second last time off the layoff and should be primed for her best in this race.. I'll have the form for this race Thursday..

G-man, ive been looking at the winners of the preekness from 1900 and if your horse rachael wins it, she will make history since a filly hasnt won since 1924 and only 3 before her
winn ing colors in 1988 and genuine risk in 1980 wernt good enough and you remember them?

Rachael will have to be the very best in ages to beat the boys here

i myself was for her strongly until i read all this facts on preakness

bol my friend

But fillies hardly ever run in the preakness.. A filly won the Belmont just two years ago and thats a harder race for a filly to win..

Also Rachel is just not any other filly and this years 3yr old crop might just be injury ridden and simply weak..

This would be the year it happened.. I usually dont like going against history but Rachel is a freak.

2 weeks rest coming off a monster effort (i don't care how "easy" it looked, that was a big effort), spells disaster for Rachel Alexander.

Not only will she be a terrible bet on Saturday at her likely odds, the probability of a serious injury (i.e. Eight Belles) is quite high right now. Fillies are very high prone to injuries under a heavy race schedule.

They would be wiser to put her on the shelf until the Belmont.

I agree about the price. There is no value in taking her at 8-5 or so. I still think she wins but is she offering value? No way. She's getting in with 121 that will help her. But yeah the 2 week layoff is kind of weird. But if any filly can do it its her

Win or lose I think it's a mistake to run her in this spot.
What's the upside to running in this race? Does the risk outweigh the return? Let her run in the Acorn then if you want to face males you could try the Haskell or Travers. Have her fresh for a big fall campaign.

Do you keep track of certain horses? The reason I ask, I've been betting horses 15+ years and always looking for an edge.

Its hard to argue with that.. Now lets say she runs and wins the Preakness, will she run in the Belmont? If so, what a hard campaign that would be for a filly..

I don't know if she would run in the Belmont. I suppose they would look and see when kind of field they expected to show up.

I think winning the Belmont took too much out of Rags to Riches.

When you have a horse that could be something incredibly special, I just don't understand taking the risk, but it's not my horse.

no question about it, although Todd Pletcher won the Belmont and finally got his Triple Crown win, but was it worth the price?

It did take too much out of her and it shortened what would of been a wonderful career..

The last thing this sport needs is a champion to be retired early, too much of that going on with injuries and early retirement to stud.. A lot of horses dont even run at the age of 4 now, something needs to be done about that..

Completely agree.
The Acorn is a Grade 1, she could dominate that and springboard into the fall.
Imagine a fresh and fit Rachel A hooking up against Zenyatta this fall.

Maybe she can handle the Preakness and whatever else they throw at her. I hope it doesn't ruin her.

Yes, I keep track of a lot of horses.. I'm always watching HRTV and TVG and when I see something that catches my eye I'll usually add the horse and reason to my virtual stable on equibase..

I can honestly say, its made me money.. If I just concentrated on horses in my virtual stable I could make a small living from it.. But that takes too much discpline.

I just started looking into this thread around derby time so do you often post the horses you follow?

One more question. You like the 3 horse so how do you play it?

The way I usually wager is I find 3 horses i like then take my favorite horse and bet like this for example. I like horses 2-4-6 and 6 being my favorite.

$10 ex 6-2 $4 ex bx 2-6

$10 ex 6-4 $4 ex bx 4-6

$1 tri bx 2-4-6

There are so many horses I'm following and some are a lot stronger than others.. I don't post them all, maybe I should??

Not too much horse racing interests in the forum world, a lot of people just come into this section during Triple Crown and Breeders Cup time.. I bet the horses 5 days a week every week min..

Well I'm probably going to bet $15 to win and $30 to place.. Might use her in a double or pick 3 depending on the races before and after..

When I really love a horse, I just bet it to win and place. I dont like to depend on other horses, cause I feel bad if my horse wins and I dont make profit.

Thanks for the responses and you should post your horses more often. My biggest problem with betting horses is figuring out is how to bet them. I can handicapp better then the average Joe but don't capitalize.
