Great topic.

Really don't know. Maybe LSU-7 IMO.

LSU has higher end talent for sure, but the XFL players are more mature.

Top college baseball team vs. top AA baseball team?

blowout AA team crushes college except for the occasional college win do to the inherent variance of the game of baseball .
but over the course of 50 games AA wins 42 out of 50

There are 320 practice squad players in the NFL and these guys on DC weren’t good enough to make the practice squad

and these aren’t college stars sure some put up good stats in the MAC AAC Mt West ect

these are the guys that are just hoping they can get better footwork technique ect just chasing a dream for another year or 2 while they can

I would say the nfl practice squads would destroy this league .

Combine all the best practice squad players onto 8 team and they would dominate the xfl.

If I was a player I would rather be on an nfl practice squad then a starter in the xfl .

And people talk about men vs boys .
That gap is not as large as people make it out to be LSU vs XFL.

The XFL will never have a QB as good as Burrow is right this second .

DC Offense
Quarterbacks

Cardale Jones – The NFL 4th round pick and collegiate National Champion is arguably the biggest name in the XFL. Cardale hasn’t been able to lock down a consistent home in the NFL, but certainly has the expectation that he’ll be back in the league if he has a great season leading the Defenders.

Tyree Jackson – Tyree, the giant 6 ft 7 Quarterback from the University of Buffalo, was one of the biggest undrafted free agent prospects following the 2019 NFL draft. After spending the preseason with the Buffalo Bills, Jackson was unable to find a home on an NFL Practice Squad. Jackson is looking to embrace the opportunity to develop and compete under Jones, under the Coach that played a big role in the development of Andrew Luck.

Running Backs

Jhurell Pressley – The University of New Mexico legend comes with a 3 year NFL pedigree and the AAF league rushing yard title. Pressley had 431 yards in the short AAF season.
Donnel Pumphrey Jr. – The all-time NCAA leading rusher and NFL 4th round pick looks to make an impact with the DC Defenders.

Nick Brossette – The LSU Running Back who broke out his senior season with 14 touchdowns, is looking to get back to the NFL after stints with both the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions.
Khalid Abdullah – The FCS Champion from regional Division 1-AA powerhouse James Madison University owns the University record for total touchdowns and rushing touchdowns. The Running Back is looking to get some film as he tries to continue his professional career.
Wide Receivers

Rashad Ross – The former Washington Redskin returns to Washington, DC after dominating AAF Defensive Backs.
Jalen Rowell – The Air Force Academy Graduate was an accomplished Receiver at a Triple Option heavy program. The Receiver compiled 2,697 yards and 18 touchdowns with the program, both records for the Air Force Academy. Rowell was projected to be a mid-round NFL draft pick, with his rare size (6 ft 4) and athleticism. However, that year, the Department of Defense changed it’s policy allowing athletes to pursue professional athletics straight out of their service academies. Rowell had to serve his 2-year commitment, taking a commission as a Flight Logistics Officer at Nellis Air Force Base. After serving our country honorably, Rowell is ready to once again pursue his professional football dreams.
Eli Rogers – After a rookie season with the Pittsburgh Steelers that saw him with about 600 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns, Rogers seemed to be a rising star. Unfortunately, he had some down seasons following and now hopes his performance with the DC Defenders can get him back to the NFL.
Tyler Palka – The Wide Receiver was a swiss-army knife at Division II Gannon. He was a Quarterback, who also saw significant time at Wide Receiver.
Simmie Cobbs – The 6 ft 3 Wide Receiver was a strong receiver at the University of Indiana, compiling about 2,000 yards and 12 touchdowns. Cobbs is a recognizable player to Redskins fans, standing out in the 2018 preseason and latching on with the teams Practice Squad. Eventually, Cobbs was signed to the New Orleans Saints active roster. The receiver seemingly had a great camp with the Dallas Renegades before being acquired on waivers by the Defenders.
Malachi Dupre – Dupre has been working to get a permanent home in the NFL for 3 seasons, spending some time on the regular-season roster of the Arizona Cardinals.
DeAndre Thompkins – A speed guy, Thompkins established himself as a successful return-man at Penn State. Thompkins will look to take advantage of the XFL’s exciting new kickoff rules.
Tight Ends

Khari Lee – The NFL veteran of 34 games is looking to establish himself as a receiver in the XFL, as he was primarily a blocking tight end in the NFL.
Donnie Ernsberger – After a very strong senior season at Western Michigan, Ernsberger has spent the past 2 seasons on NFL teams.
Derrick Hayward – With good size at 6 ft 5, Hayward represents himself as one of the stronger blockers on the team. Expect Hayward to play a significant role with the rushing offense.
Center

Jon Toth – Toth started 35 consecutive games at Center for the University of Kentucky. Following college, Toth had a brief stint with the New York Jets.
James O’Hagan – Started 3 straight seasons at Center for the University of Buffalo. Following college, O’Hagan had a brief stint with the New York Giants.
Guard

Dorian Johnson – Johnson was a 4-year starter at the University of Pittsburgh. Johnson was a 4th round NFL Draft Pick, heading to the Arizona Cardinals. Due to injuries and other circumstances, Johnson was unable to secure his placement on the regular-season roster of the team, heading to the Texans and Panthers for the next 2 seasons.
Rishard Cook – The Guard transferred from Junior College to UAB, establishing himself as a contributor his Senior Season.
Chris Brown – At the University of Southern California, Brown played 41 games and started 17 of them. Brown joined the LA Chargers as an undrafted free agent and was unable to establish himself with the team.
Offensive Tackle

Cole Boozer – Boozer is an athletic Tackle that played his first 2 years of college as a Tight End. Boozer transitioned his Junior year and started every game as a Senior. Boozer had a short stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after his collegiate career.
Logan Tuley-Tillman – Played at 3 colleges, including the University of Michigan, Akron, and UTEP. He started every game when he was at Akron and UTEP. Tuley-Tillman has massive size on the end at 6 ft 7.
Malcolm Bunche – The Offensive Lineman has traveled around the NFL and CFL, following his collegiate career at UCLA. The 6 ft 6 Tackle has parts of 4 seasons in the NFL under his belt.
De’Ondre Wesley – Welsey is a BYU standout who has played 7 regular season NFL games across parts of 4 NFL seasons.

Defense
[h=2]Defense[/h][h=4]Secondary[/h]Elijah Campbell and Desmond Lawrence are responsible for the corners of the DC defense. Campbell wasn’t too active in the first game, but the ball wasn’t thrown in his direction very often. In other words, that’s a good thing. Campbell did make a tackle and broke up two passes, though. The 24-year-old is playing in a starting role for the second time in his professional career after failing to catch on with the Browns and moving on to the AAF.
Lawrence was active in his XFL debut, having made three tackles, a tackle for a loss, and two passes defended. The former Tar Heel signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and was close to making that team. He suffered an injury and landed on IR to set his professional career back. Lawrence spearheaded the North Carolina defense when he was in college, as he racked up 175 tackles, three interceptions, and a forced fumble. A strong showing in the XFL, and he may have another look in the NFL. If he didn’t get injured, Lawrence may still be in the NFL at the moment.
Baltimore Ravens and Florida Gator fans will be familiar with safety Matt Elam. Elam was a bust with the Ravens after being selected in the first-round of the 2013 draft. He was regarded as the best safety in the draft, though his production fell off after a productive rookie season. His best days are behind him, and he’s more of a veteran presence in the locker room.
Former Michigan Wolverine, 23-year-old Tyree Kinnel, and fellow youngster, Carlos Merritt, have a lot more upside than Elam. Merritt is an unknown talent out of Campbell University, having spent last season in the AAF with Atlanta. Brandon Silvers was held to 217 passing yards in Week 1, so it was a decent effort by the secondary.
[h=4]Linebackers[/h]Jonathan Massaquoi has had one of the better NFL careers among active players in the XFL. His three seasons with the Falcons was fairly productive. Massaquoi made 70 tackles and 6 sacks in 39 games with the Falcons. He tailed off following a foot injury, and didn’t provide meaningful contributions again until last year in the AAF. The 31-year-old veteran is joined by a host of talent, including Jameer Thurman and A.J. Tarpley.
Tarpley was drafted by the Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2015. After a promising start to his career, he announced his retirement from football at 23 years old because of concussion concerns. Tarpley made his return to football last season with an appearance in the AAF. He showed in his XFL debut that he still has the talent to play.
Tarpley made five combined tackles along with a pass defended in his first game with the Defenders. Thurman was with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL most recently, helping them to a Grey Cup victory in 2018. He led the team in tackles a week ago with a total of eight, which included a TFL.
[h=4]Defensive Line[/h]Jayson Bromley anchors a solid defensive line for the Defenders. Bromley has been to New York with the Giants, Saints, and 49ers the past several years. He entered the league in 2014 in New York and played there for three years, highlighted by a career-high 36 tackles in 2015. He was a surprising contributor at Syracuse after getting no recruiting attention, and hopes to find more success in his professional career with the Defenders.
Elijah Qualls was selected in the sixth round of the 2017 draft by the Eagles. He was able to collect a Super Bowl ring with the team, but wasn’t much of a factor. Qualls went on to sign short contracts with the Panthers, Ravens, and Buccaneers as well, finding no love and no playing time anywhere. The XFL is going to be his last hope of finding a role on a professional football team.
Northern Arizona product, Siupeli Anau, who signed and was waived multiple times by the Arizona Cardinals, should provide some nice depth to the Defenders’ defensive line as well. The guy I’m really keeping an eye on is Tracy Sprinkle, though. Sprinkle was supposed to be a major contributing factor at Ohio State, but injuries were unkind to the 24-year-old. He is one of those guys that you have to think what his career would be like right now if he didn’t get hurt. If he’s healthy, Sprinkle could play a role in helping the Defenders to an XFL Championship.

This exact question was asked to a few linesmakers last week and they were all in the DC -6/-7 range.

Nice to see the cavalry agree with me. I think LSU would be more competitive than most national champs because their QB play is superior.

But most NCAAF champs get a lot of their edge from being physically superior to their opponents, especially SEC teams. That probably wouldn't fly vs minor league pros.

DC -14

The DC -6 or -7 would get pounded by professional bettors. The -6/-7 is more the range for the worst XFL Team.

The XFL team could likely run it every play and win.
