This is the same Miami team that people were wondering if they would start the season 0-4, and the same VT team that started the season in the pre season top 10 right? All the talk now is about how the U is back. I'm not completely buying it. Sure they are much improved, but this is still Virginia Tech at home. This will be the best defense Miami has seen this year, and I expect Harris to come back down to earth. Sure VT got gouged by Bama on the ground, but Bama arguably has one of the best running games in cfb. Against a more pass oriented Nebraska team they were able to hold them down for the most part the entire game. Beamer will have the Hokies ready to protect home field in a huge ACC conference game.

I like Miami.

Preseason predictions really have nothing to do with how the teams have looked playing their games. The predictions are just guesses. We now have actual information to use.

The reason many thought Miami would start 0-4 is because they're schedule looked really tough. They're 2-0 so far. What does that say?

already on Virginia Tech.
Harris has not seen pressure on him all year. He has been able to sit back in the pocket all day long. It will be a different story once he goes to Lane Stadium! VT will blitz him all day long unlike the other teams he has faced.

I guess I am really confused about this one. I know a lot of people on here like VT, but I guess I just want to know how they will stop the pass??? I mean, is their defense SO much better than FSU and GT???

I would say a little maybe, but Miami will score points...And the only thing MIami's defense does well is stop the run... So people are banking on Tyrod Taylor to throw for a few hundred yards and multiple TD's ?????

I will probably stay away from this one, but VT offense cetainly does not pass the eyeball test.

I think it gives VT a ton of value. VT is still an extremely talented team, and I am not arguing Miami looks much better then many thought, but they can easily be 1-1. Plus in both wins, there defense hasn't exactly been dominant, and you can argue both defense they played have drastically underperformed. When it comes down to it defense wins out over offense, especially in a hostile enviornment in Blacksburg.

Sharps hit opener moved it to -1. Then with 84% of public on Miami they moved it another 2 points to -3. I'll take the 2 point value at +3. I don't think it will move through 3 so I assume no matter what you have, be it Miami +1, or VT +3 it's a good bet. That is IF it doesn't move through 3, which I don't think it will

VT's touted defense is based more on their tradition and hype then actual production. This year they have been average. People keep saying, "yea, but they played Alabama." Marshall put up over 100 yards rushing, 4.5 ypc and Nebraska put up 207, 5.75 ypc. Nebraska had the ball in VT red zone and then had 3 penalties in a row which basically cost them a TD (thus the game). VT has two playmakers and that is Worilds and a banged up Williams.

Miami's secondary can tackle which is the difference between this team and most ACC teams and the O can score. I'll watch this game to see which team is exposed as the truly overhyped entity without taking any action.

Vagina Techs defense is shit. Miami's defense is a lot better. Hostile environment or not, VT is a really average team this year while Miami could be a title contender. Have you watched both teams play?
