From now on going to keep the journey to go pro in my sig and do a daily thread and track my record for each sport individually. Only MLB play I had is $300 on the Phillies which isn't looking good at all needless to say. Been working on this card for a while and I may add to a few of these if I get more value when Matchbook has stuff out. For now this is what I will be on:

$650 to Win $500
Padres -130
Played At: Pinnacle

Jake Peavy is just filthy and coming off of an injury plagued year last year I think we see a rebound today. They go at home against Kuroda who I really don't think is worthy of being a #1 in the MLB. Somehow 90% of the public has found themselves on the Dodgers and going against Peavy, interesting.

$500 to win $590
Rangers +118
Played At: 5 Dimes

Really like the Rangers as a sleeper this year. They have a bunch of proven hitters who are still young and I think Josh Hamilton is in store for a monster year. The Rangers have Milwood on the hill who I have read from several people is pitching for a contract. They go at home against Cliff Lee who lets not forget was nothing special before an amazing year last year. I really think Cliff Lee comes back down to earth this year and will gladly take this value against a overrated Indians club.

$505 to win $500
Blue Jays/Tigers Under 7.5 (-101)
Played At: Pinnacle

All reports I heard say that Justin Verlander is getting closer to his dominant 07 form and if so he can be in for a bounce back year. We all know about Halladay. Not to mention one of the Blue Jays favorite hobbies last year was not getting Doc run support. The Tigers do have a lineup capable of scoring but Roy should be able to neutralize them.

$500 to win $705
Athletics +141
Played At: 5 Dimes

First time over the card I thought I may like the Angels but this line is too high. The reports of Joe Saunders dead arm should scare everyone off of the Angels until they can see for themselves what he looks like. I like the A's this year and they finally have some pop in their line up. Wide open AL West should have the A's motivated enough and with Saunders arm problems I just have to take some nice value here.

Matchbook stuff is coming out and I am surprised to see that their is not much value other then in the Padres. I can get them -125. Will be monitoring that now.

BTW for those that don't know since my hiatus from the RX I have decided to take a legit stab at being a pro gambler. I saddled up a $40,000 bankroll and have been sticking to flatbetting $500 a game however in the past few days I have been varying my bet sizes from $250-$1,000 with much more success. I have been up and down and at the moment I am down something like $450 which isn't bad at all. I am just trying to put a nice little run together and I think baseball may be my sport to do that.

I have been having a mini-blog type thing tracking my progress and bankroll a long with the amount of money in all my accounts so you can see exactly how I am doing. You can follow over at exactbets. com/forum if you want.

I have learned a lot and Monday will begin my 5th week of doing this and while I am not where I want to be the knowledge I am gaining I think will help me big time in the long run.

totally agree with the padres tomorrow. peavy has incredible numbers at home against LA throughout his career. 9-2 with a 1.39 era & 0.76 whip. also in his opening home start of the year he is 5-2/0.94/0.79 not to mention he has never given up more than 1 run in any of his first home starts of the year over his 7 years in the league. seems like he gets pumped for opening day & the dodgers being the opposition is just icing on the cake.

Just wanted to add some info.... I am a little scared about all of these pitchers that were in the WBC... (peavy) many sharps out here in vegas have noted that these pitchers did not have amble time to get ready during spring training... he got crushed in the WBC and i am not sold on him being ready yet...hope this helps and best of luck. Gimmie you are on your way to being a great capper!

I like the Dodgers today GD..Peavy and all the WBC pitchers should be faded because they didn't go through their normal spring training routine. Plus the Padres have zero offense. I am aware of the Peavy owning the Dodgers, but i have a feeling my boy gets shelled today. gl

Hmm interesting points you guys make about the WBC. I know they haven't had their regular routine but I am skeptical about how much the WBC effects them. They usually start up earlier and work to get into game shape before the other guys even start up spring training. I think it is a guessing game how one player will react compared to the other. For one guy it may be huge, for another it may be no effect. I just think the Dodgers are getting way to much credit from people. I think they get 90 wins which means they have 72 games to lose. On the road vs Peavy certainly looks like a nice spot.

I think the best point to take advantage of the effects of the WBC is after their first game. Once you see what they look like you can probably tell.

BOL this baseball season...I agree that WBC should be a concern. Both Peavy and Oswalt got shelled. I personally like the under 6.5 in this one. Peavy's track record, pitcher's park, lack of offense...I think whoever wins this one only gets to 3 runs. Just my 2 cents.

since coming back from the wbc peavy has not allowed a run in 14 innings of spring training work. the wbc was essentially spring training for peavy & a lot of those pitchers. they always say not to put much if any stock in spring training stats for veteran pitchers so i'm treating the wbc as an anomoly. peavy is young, a proven stud & his bad outings had nothing to do with last years injury so i'm buying.
