Gilbert Brown's season done, career could be over, after tearing right biceps muscle

The Green Bay Packers began pursuit of Dan Wilkinson yesterday after losing tackle Gilbert Brown to an injury.
Wilkinson also has spoken to the Detroit Lions, New England Patriots and other clubs since being cut by the Redskins, but apparently is yet to receive a contract offer worth as much as $1 million for this season.

I like Gilbert a lot.

I was having dinner with a Packers coach a couple of years ago and he was telling us, the year before, Gilbert knocked on his old trainer from Kansas' door, the day after Thanksgiving and said

"I need help. I can't keep the wait off. I'm eating myself to a slow death."

The guy helped him out and helped him get back to the NFL.

Gilbert was one of the good guys. He took less money with GB to stay where he thought his family was.

I don't see him playing again, but, i guess you never really know.

I hope, for his sake, that he finds another way to keep his weight in check without football. Otherwise, he is in for a really bad time down the road.

***not quite. when denver beat GB in the SB, shanahan said the plan was to run AT brown and tire him out - and that is what happened. brown is fat and could get in the way of the runners. make him run 2 steps and he woulda passed out.

She looks pretty amazing in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back as well. And the New Guy. And that cheerleading movie. And just about everything. The bathing suit changing scene was a nice toss in to make the New Guy bearable.
