LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The sight of a large inflatable colon may bring some snickers for some younger minds.
The large scale body part, though, is being shown off in Las Vegas as part of an education opportunity for Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
At 10 feet high and 30 feet long, the colon being displayed at the Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada provides a close-up view of healthy colon tissue as well as the body part in different stages of cancer.
The colon is scheduled to be on display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Centers' office at 3730 S. Eastern Avenue.
The large educational tool is one of four of its kind trekking around the country.
