The Padres meet the Cubs, against whom they are 6-0 this year, in the finale of a three-game set on Sunday. After Friday's 10-5 win over Chicago, San Diego captured the series with a 4-3 triumph on Saturday, thanks once again to Mike Piazza. In the opener, Piazza had four hits, including a RBI double for the lead and game-clinching burst of momentum. Then in the second game, he hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning.
The Padres have now won 13 of their last 14 contests and are one step closer to once again sweeping the lowly Cubs. They captured the all four meetings between these two teams May 5-8.
Clay Hensley (1-2, 4.73 ERA) will make the start for San Diego, which has a four-game winning streak. In his previous outing, the 26-year-old righthander failed to earn a decision in a 5-4 setback to Milwaukee on Tuesday. Hensley surrendered four runs, eight hits and three walks in five frames.
The Cubs - losers of 11 of their last 12 games - give the ball to lefthander Rich Hill (0-2, 9.00). He will try to end a personal two-game skid, including a 6-1 defeat to San Francisco on Tuesday in which he allowed five runs, eight hits and three walks in six innings.
BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!
