QB(Nickson) got banged up and didn't play anymore. Status? The sub did enough to win in tough circumstances.

That's the line? No way Vandy should be a road favorite. Miss St will win.

This is a Vandy team that just beat AUBURN (and South Carolina), I promise you they will win this game

Ummmm, Auburn is not that good -- they generally play to the level of the competition.

S. Carolina -- no comment necessary.

By the way, you do know that Auburn beat Miss. State 3-2, right?

Auburn has proved to be arguably the most overrated team heading into the season. What have they done so far? Beat Miss St 3-2, lost to Vandy, lost @ home to LSU, and barely beat a bad Tenn team at home 14-12. So they've beat two of the worst SEC teams by a combined margin of 3, and lost to LSU (overrated, but still good- no qb so I don't think they're top tier at all), and a Vandy team that doesn't have much talent. I'm not saying they're not well coached or that they don't deserve to be 5-0, but they don't have that much talent. There is a reason they were projected to have 3 wins the entire season.

Auburn is a middle of the pack team that should never be ranked this season. They will lose 3 more games this year, so beating a 7-5 team at home is nothing to brag about.

This line should be Miss St -3.5 at the very least. The talent is probably pretty equal and Miss St is playing at home.

I don't think I would put money on the doormat of the SEC, Miss State to beat another SEC team. How many SEC wins does Croom have in his career?

figure out how many points Miss St.'s defense scores and that should tell you who the winner is going to be. Whichever team scores 13 points first will win this game.....if anyone scores 13 points at all. Miss St.'s offense is right up there with Wyoming's. An absolute horror show to watch.

I see an upset coming as well.

Vandy is about to experience the same thing ECU did.

I am a MSU fan. I honestly can't see them pulling this one out. After being at the State Auburn game, I just don't see us scoring more than 10 points. They are starting a different quarterback now, but I still see Vandy pulling this one off. I hope I am wrong though.

McKenzie Adams, the back up for the Commodores, is more than capable of stepping into the role of what Nixon was doing. He is a more efficient passer but also can bring the ball down and get some yardage with his legs. He is a mobile QB with a good arm.

This VU team will take nothing for granite under Bobby Johnson. He will outcouch Croom from head to toe. I don't see how you can say MSU over VU this weekend. It would be considered a no play or all VU for me to say the least.

What's the basis behind saying MSU will win outside of the fact that the team they are facing is the private SEC school in Vanderbilt? Someone spoke of the wins that VU has come across and the loses and close games that Auburn has played. What about MSU opening night vs. La Tech? Has someone forgot that that team was able to do whatever they damn well pleased and come out with an embarassing victory over an SEC team?

It's VU or nothing.

The problem is Vandy is doing it with smoke and mirrors as well. They are dead last in the SEC in yards per game (288.6). they are averaging 96 YPG passing 64 YPG lower than the next lowest team Auburn.

Vanderbilt has done it by few turnovers and few penalties. Basically playing mistake free football with inferior talent.

If they let up one ounce.. then Miss State will take them out, Vanderbilt has to continue playing almost perfect football to keep winning and even that might not be enough soon when they ge to the Georgia/Florida part of the schedule.

This game is a no-play for me because it basically comes down to who gets the right turnovers/penalties at the right times, since neither offense is going to blow the other one out on an 80 yd field.
