They beat Philly who is without one of their best players, Glenn Robinson. Let's see how they do tomorrow against the Lakers. Don't put too much stock in 1 game.

GS is the RAMS 00-01 of NBA this year I have no doubts this team scores a bunch and can do enough intangibles to pull of wins. like last year, they were always your DD dog go to as a late game. well, now they made some changes. this team will shock all year. bank it.

I did not know the books had a future on GS NOT making the playoffs. What did you have to lay? GS beat an overrated Philly team that had played on the road the night before.

Warriors shot an amazing 59% from the field. Being a Warriors fan i am still in shock the way they played being so short handed. No Van Exel, J-Rich, Murphy, or Foyle(except for a minute). However this team has a long, long way to go. Breaking 30 wins will still be a huge accomplishment in the west. You have to remember that Philly's frontcourt is all out of whack right now and they don't have much up there. It was one win for the Warrriors who in my opinion will not go anywhere near the 38 wins they had last year(low 30's at best). One thing i do think they will improve upon is defense which will give them a win every now and than. Claxton and Cheaney hit some extremely lucky shots tonight and that is not going to happen the majority of the time.

Lots of teams let down after going into Sac-town the night before, no big surprise here.

When was the last time a team that did absolutely nothing the year before win an NBA title??? It just doesn't happen, other sports can see a team go from nothing to champion, but not this league. This league demands patience as a team progresses each year a little further and adds a new weapon to its arsenal for the next year. The Lakers had Shaq and Kobe and got embarassed two years in a row by the Jazz and Spurs before they moved up to championship. The Bulls needed a long run before they got to championship caliber team even with MJ and Scottie. The Rockets were disappointing losers in the playoffs before getting two titles. Betting on a team that wasn't good the year before to win a title just is a waste of money in this sport, every year there are maybe 5 or 6 teams that even can say they have a chance to win a title and do it. I think last year's Spurs were one of the most unexpected teams in awhile since they weren't necessarily built to win last year and still they were longtime playoff participants and title contenders in the years before it.

Good question. The team I recall going from rags to riches in the most dramatic turnaround was the Celtics in Larry Legends first year. The difference in wins was marked but I do not believe they won the championship that year. Anyone remember without looking it up?
