Thye're done! Just an unbelievably horrible performance last night.... 6 points the first 10 minutes of the second half! They had Duke reeling then came out totally flat in the 2nd...Schintzer was absolutely pathetic, the guy had 3-4 dunks point blank that he did not finish...they must run the table including the tournament to get in...and they dn't deserve it, horrible game! Duke didn't even play well...

Nothing worse on TV than having Duke's opponent with 'Duke' Vitale on the call:finger:

Sadly, I think the Billy Packers of the world that are on the tournament committee will give them a pass and let them in on reputation, as well as last year's run.

Tech really lacks another guy who can take it to the hole...Schintzer loooks like he's digressed, I can't believe how poor his game has been this year, after a nice year last year....

Last night was a prime example, the smaller quick players get to the hoop but get their shots blocked, they don't have enough height when the outside shot isn't falling... they do play pretty good defense though..Schintzer though lol, just amazing, he didn't show up missing several point blank dunks!

Maryland should not get in ...losing to Clemson twice is pathetic, pathetic! I don't care that they beat Duke twice, you cannot lose to Clemson twice and look yourself in the mirror and be proud ...make Md get to atleast the final of the ACC to get a sniff..Clemson has 3 WINS! and TWO vs MARYLAND!

Still believe if UNI wins their last two games, they will be very hard to keep out of the tournament. Winning both would probably propel them into the top 40 in RPI.

Cedar Falls/Waterloo area is unfortunately just a bit off the radar for most.

However, I really like this Panther team. Cashed big against Western Michigan recently and would like to see them make the dance. Watched that game and UNI looked real tough. Only a home win over Iowa stands out in their non-conference resume though. Still deserving pending remaining game outcomes I think.

Hate seeing "name" schools on a downward spiral getting in because they are "name" schools.

Too many losses. And several of them were bad losses. I think they are solid, and Jacobsen is very tough. But I think they have to win at Wichita, which I don't think they will, and they would have to go to the finals of the conference tourney. They will be a good NIT team, though.

I should retract my statement above about hating "name" schools on a downward spiral getting in.

Afterall that is precisely how year after year we can go for the jugular and make a nice profit in at least the early rounds.

I agree too. They'd obviously have to win the ACC tourney, but w/the way they've been playing I'd consider them a real longshot. Jarret Jack is playing great, but I don't think he could single handily carry them on is back.

Obviously the system is flawed...but if Tech gets in and Wichita ST. does not...then the system is completely phucked. Not to mention Utah St. last year. The RPI is the culprit.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution today said this is the ACC bubble picture. They think the top maybe 5 teams from ACC?

According to the AJC:

Ga Tech Pros- sympathy pts for Elder injury
Cons- stumbling down the stretch; Wake only big win

Maryland Pros- swept Duke; No. 26 RPI
Cons- swept by Cemson; UNC on deck

Miami Pros- Beat Florida; 7-9 may make it this year
Cons- How did they lose to South Carolina St?

N.C. State Pros- Swept Ga Tech and Maryland
Cons- No wins over ACC Big 3

Virginia Tech Pros- Upset Duke, Maryland toughest left
Cons- 101 RPI; lost to VMI, W. Mich

This conference deserves four: UNC, Duke, Wake and Maryland.

But they'll get at least five and probably six. That's unfortunate because a deserving mid-major team will get a NIT bid while G-Tech, Va. Tech or Miami gets to go to the tourney.

A week ago I felt this was probably the top conference. But after this week I am sure the Big East is #1.

So true Mr. Jones. There are going to be some suspect teams getting in this year from the "major" conferences. Look at ESPN's projected bracket every Monday for a good laugh. If it is anywhere close to what will happen, then there will be some great first and second round matchups from a wagering perspective.
