Georgia visits LSU this sunday in a battle of unbeatens. The line I found was LSU -3. Was wondering what everyones thoughts were about this. From reading the Athens newspaper people are talking about a National Championship. Georgia has played three better teams in my opinion and I think the wrong team is favored. In 98' & 99' the Bulldogs won both games by a point.

I read in the Advocate how Saban wants his team to play the full 60 minutes regardless of the score. Both teams won all there games by a significant margin but think if LSU is favored the play might be the Bulldogs as I think they win this one straight up.

Thoughts and opinions please...

The straight up winner is 5-1ATs so if you like Geoargia take moneyline. Geaorgia has played the tougher schedule so maybe LSU has seen some more of the playbook. My personal opinion don't like either side to close to call. Mauch for LSU can be difficult to defend because he scrambles and can take a hit and keep moving. Geaorgia has Greene who has amazing touch

Here's a tip for you fellas.....

Our Field goal kicking is terrible! If this game comes down to a last second kick......the Dawgs win.

Both teams are very tough, with a slight edge to Georgia b/c of their defense. The home field advantage may be the difference for LSU. If LSU wins, it won't be by more than a field goal. Take the 3 points while you can get em.

If it was a night game I would lay off this one

Of course, as an alum, I have to exercise some discipline and not bet this game. But, you guys are going to be surprised at how good LSU is this season. Keep waiting, because that line will be dropping all week as the Georgia money rolls in.....LSU 27-17

LSUPete, could you give us a little more perspective on this LSU team. I have yet to see them play a game but have seen all but one of Georgia's games.

Sure, but it will have to be a quick one. I'll do an in depth report later this week.

OFFENSE:
LSU has a VERY experienced offensive line that has more total starts than any other team in the SEC....this is their strength. Matt Mauck has improved his passing by light years and has sick running skills. Mauck was in the Cubs organization for four years, so he is very mature and will never get rattled or shit in his helmet. He is also a 3.8 gpa pre-med student, which speaks of his intelligence and ability to have the offense in the right set/position. The wide receivers are absolutely stellar and I challenge any of you to find a more talented group. We are truly DEEP and talented at running back, even though we sent two guys to the NFL last year. Bottom line is that the offense will hang over 24 points on ANY defense in the country.

DEFENSE:
Saban is a coach with DC experience in the NFL, so the defense is his baby. Our defensive line is two deep at every position and the front four are huge and scary! Our ends are 6'7-290 and 6'5-285 and they are VERY athletic, so it will be tough to run on us. The bad part of that is we don't have a speed rush from the end on passing plays. The linebackers are definitely the weak link, because they are talented....but inexperienced. Our corners will both play on sunday, but the safeties are inexperienced. Saban compensates for this by using a lot of nickel packages.

My take on the game is that Georgia will have a tough time accounting for everything that LSU has on offense. Their DC is super sharp, and Pollack is a demon, but I think LSU just has more toys to play with this year....and this game is at LSU.

LSU wins 27-17

I'm hearing that LSU's best player WR Clayton may not play, and if he does play, he won't be 100%. Any work on that Pete?
I hate to root against your boys, but I think Georgia is just too damn good. They have talent galore and their defense is as good as any in the country. Plus D.Greene is 8-0 as a starter on the road.

Clayton was held out of practice yesterday BECAUSE he will play on saturday. The injured player that is more critical is Jack Hunt. He is the free safety and makes ALL of the defensive alignment calls. If he is held out (concusion) Georgia will be able to catch LSU's secondary out of position.

Green is a good QB, but he hasn't played in Baton Rouge yet. No offense to Clemson and South Carolina, but Georgia will have trouble with the noise on Saturday...especially their inexperienced offensive line.

Thanks Pete.
I know how rowdy it can be at night after everyone gets liquored up, but haven't seen a game there during the day. Should be one the best games to watch this Saturday.

This game might be the exception to the dreaded day game in Baton Rouge. The fans have worked themselves into lather already with anticipation and by Saturday they will be in a frenzy. ESPN Gameday didn't help matters by deciding to host there show in Baton Rouge....people will be tailgating on Friday night for this one and there will be plenty of folks that will be hoarse all day Sunday.

This should be an interesting game and definately will let us all know how good or not so good each team is. However, the value lies with Georgia here. LSU does have a good offense but I think that gets neutralized with the team speed of Geo. From top to bottom, Geo is the better team. They know how to win/cover on the road 8-0 last three years and 33-17 since 1992.

And when was the last BIG game LSU won at home. Last year their big game was Bama- final 31-0 Bama. LSU is just 26-42 ATS @ home since 92.

Geo wins by 7-10 IMO.
