You dont remember seeing Gibson for the Dawgs?

He was a stud, catching Greene's passes...

Although i must say i would think recievers are the LAST thing the Steeler's need, as they have a great core group, but that guy can play..

Fred Gibson is a CHOKING Dawg! He gets alligator arms on routes over the middle. He does not like contact and is generally lazy. Chad Owens of Hawaii has a much larger heart. LT

Dante, if you have seen a David Green highlight reel, then you have seen some Giibson, but the reason you ask the question is because truth be told, this guy is a "David Copperfield"..I.E..he'll dazzle you with a great exhibition(be it play or entire game) then poof, he pulls a disappearing act.

Much like Copperfield with Schiffer or a model on his arm, Gibson looks best with Green's arm throwing one of his inconsistent yet perfect over the shoulder tosses.

I agree with LT, and think he is more hype than hope at the NFL level, but we shall see.

I saw him play both football and basketball at UGA.

In basketball he was quick, fast and had great hops, although not particularly a skilled shooter. I think he quit BB after his sophomore year to focus on football and get over some injuries.

Football-wise, he was best in his freshman year when he hadn't gone thru the rigors of playing FB and BB in the same season.

On the downside, he tended to lose concentration a little. On plus side, I think by devoting himself fully to football and getting over some injuries, I think he has a big upside.

He has the size and playmaking ability to be a good replacement for Plaxico at one-tenth of the price. I ain't a Steelers fan but I think they made a good choice to get a larger receiver to pair with Ward and Randle-El.

Pittsburgh made a decent choice in Gibson. He needs to put more weight on but could develop into something. Is somewhat gifted physically. Pittsburgh is just hoping that Gibson or Wilson develop into a serviceable 2, so we can keep Randle El in the slot. I love Randle El, but he wouldn't pan out as a 2. Mays has been OK the last few years but that was at the 4, there's no way he can become the 2 unless he does something amazing in camp. Great draft by Pittsburgh, filled all the needs. Also, loved the pick of the guard from Utah, forget his name. Dude was thrown out of two games for kicking people while they were down.....now THAT's a mean streak. No chance at all to see playing time, Simmons and Faneca are studs, but gonna be fun to watch. Maybe he can play Center for when Hartings finally hangs it up.
