Both teams were very fortunate...

OK went too conservative on O in the late 4th and both OT's, wow, GA blocked a FG in OT, Bama struggled on O but got 2 TDs in less than a minute on freak defected interceptions, when it seemed Clemson was getting in sync for a potential score. And one Bama TD was clearly a flagrant pick by a large lineman to clear up the pass to the big kid DL, should have been pushed back for a penalty.

If the OK-GA game was not in the deep thick grass and was in New Orleans, the score would have been more like 24-21 or so, & if the Bama-Clemson was in Pasadena, it would have been 31-28 or so.

This game is on artificial turf and the speed D's of both teams will make if difficult for both good OL's to block and protect the passers.

It will be a low scoring game and might be decided by turnovers like the Sugar Bowl, so hard to go BIG on either.

I have to like Bama's coaching experience and system in big games and more experienced QB but Fromm is the real deal, can pass a whole lot better than Bryant, and one of the GA backs might bust for 50 yards and be the difference, sure the Bama backs are good but not nearly as explosive.

Early in the week but I like GA + 4.5, small, might change as I look at things this week. The Bama train is real, very difficult to go against in this spot, though.

only one of us is yapping to convince ourselves about how great my team is or how, ahemm, dogshit my upcoming opponent is. and, spoiler alert, it's not me

Not yapping to convince my team is superior. I know you probably have said, along with many of Bama fans, the offense this year is not impressive. Losing Kiffin has hurt the Tide on offense. Daboll is a downgrade....or has shown that up to this point. I have no idea why he pulls D Harris in critical drives....he is player. They also are still treating Hurts like he is true frosh making his first start.....or maybe he is at his ceiling as a QB.

Bama may win, but it will be on the defense to play like they did Monday.....and that's a possibility now that they seem to be healthy on that side of the ball. If UGA jumps out to a lead early it could play out that the Bama Barn game.

Last week all the talking heads were touting how UGA was fortunate to be in the playoffs, but have no chance against OU
....now it's the same song vs Bama.

The Rose Bowl was a max effort, emotionally draining game for both teams and the extra plays in OT make it physically draining as well. Then, you get on a plane and have to fly across the country, readjust to eastern time and get ready to play for the national championship in less than a week.

Alabama dominated that game yesterday and weren't playing to win that game, they were playing to win a championship.

I'm on Alabama to cover the 4.5.

Alabama stopped Clemson but did not dominate, Bama O was ca ca, they got by because they grabbed the lead, scored 14 pts in less than a minute on two deflected INTs. Might have been different if not for that...

Again, both teams deserve to be here but both were fortunate in some ways.

But wasn't Alabama playing against the #1 team in the nation and the vaunted Brent Venables Clemson D? And the last time I checked, it's OK to score points off turnovers to help you dominate games.

Georgia offense looked good against a shit defense. Georgia will face a team that can actually tackle.

Alabama offense was vanilla, they knew a Bryant led Clemson offense wasn’t going to score much at all. Just don’t turn it over.

We can all reference def stats, Alabama played many games at less than full strength. When healthy they can dominate a game defensively like no other team.

I’m far from a Bama fan, but my eyes tell me they are the best team. Hurts will manage the game, Georgia will struggle offensively, and Bama wins another slugfest 23-13.

This Bama team isn't close to years past. That said Georgia fits right into Bama's hands with their style of play. To beat Bama you spread them out on D and run tempo and hopefully you gas them. Ole Miss with Kelly, A&M with Manziel and Clemson with Watson(2x) all had big time success with this formula.

The Georgia defense will be happy to see Hurts and the Bama offense after seeing Mayfield and the dynamic Sooner offense. Still think intangibles and style of play favor Bama. It will be close and may come down to a FG which may bite Saban in the ass. 3-4 point game in the end.

Think Bama 1st half is a solid play.
