It's real simple NBA...the Clintons don't want Dean and his new buddy Al Gore taking over the party. That would mean byebye to their buddy who heads the DNC Terry McAwful and more importantly it would spoil Hillary's chances in 2008. That's why the Clintons are quietly (wink wink) backing Clark.
Unless Bush takes some serious hits, Dean cannot beat Bush, and further, he will/would be disaster for Congressional Dems, esp in the South. However, if either Gephardt or Clark win the nomination, then they have a real chance to defeat Bush. If the Dems really want to win they had better nominate nominate a near-unelectable candidate.
