Clark ran hard as long as he could and did the right thing to gracefully bow out today. The General ran a strong campaign and should be proud of how he did as a rookie going up against veterans.

Here's to hoping that his next title is Mr. Secretary of State.

I think you're probably right but I'd rather see him as Secretary of Defense and undo the damage Rumsfeld has done to the morale of our fighting forces and their families.

Actually he cannot be Secy of Defense because you have to be a civilian for at least 10 years to to be Defense Sec. Kind of a strange rule. Doesn't apply to Secy of State. Also I think his srong suit is a negotiator/statesman as he's very well respected abroad, esp throughout Europe.

If he doesn't overstay his welcome, how about Dean for HHS Secy?

I know the popular thinking is Edwards for VP, but my top choice for Kerry would be BILL RICHARDSON if he wanted it. Bright guy, guv of NM, former Ambassador...he'd help tap the underrepresented hispanic vote big time. Bush has made some inroads there but Richardson cpuld turn that around and probably getthose who've never voted. Geographically he could also in Arizona which could be a huge pickup, and also other Western states.

Edwards could maybe be Attorney General if he wanted.

What a great Admin this is going to be replacing Bush.

Somehow I doubt all these candidates are even considered for all these spots. Lots of people have run good races, but didn't get any perks for it. Even the move of taking a key competitor and making him VP is pretty rare, although I highly expect it this year as Clark or Edwards seem like the sure short list for the job. I just can't see Dean being involved here, there is still a lot of animosity there and he really seems a guy that would be better suited spending some time regrouping. He strikes me as a guy that would run a campaign for the nomination even against a sitting President.

Why don't all the democrats come back to Minnesota and CELEBRATE the anniversary of late Paul Wellstone. That pep rally really turned out good. Pathetic losers.

I think the Bush Administration had the great Paul Wellstone murdered.

Go figure the strongest war dissenter ends up dead.
