boatboatboat, are you a troll? :think2:
After Paterno heard about Sandusky anally raping a 10 year old child he informed his superior. His superior proceeded to do nothing and not notify law enforcement.
Any reasonable person would follow up after hearing what Sandusky was accused of doing, and find out if law enforcement was notified. Evidently, Paterno, by his own admision, did not follow up on the investigation, at all.
By any means, that is not normal behavior, nor is it the moral thing to do. Even in maximum security prisons filled with morally bankrupt sociopaths, the prisoners see individuals who hurt children as scum of the earth.
Obviously everyone running Penn State, including Paterno, care more about avoiding bad publicity than preventing children being raped. Exception of murder, I can not think of a more reprehensible crime than raping a child.
Lastly, we only know the offical story of events and what is reported and confirmed. Sundusky has known Paterno for nearly 50 years. He played under Paterno from 1963-1967, and then proceeded to work on Paterno's coaching staff his whole professional life. It would be naive to believe Paterno didn't know about Sundusky's incident in 1998, or anything else about his sick sexual behavior.
I really liked Paterno, but unfortunately by his lack of action he has shamed his legacy, his family's name, and Penn State's football program.
Lastly, if the NCAA vacates wins and takes away heisman's for bullshit like player's selling their own memorabilia, it would only be logical that they should vacate a good porition of Paterno's wins.
